Whether you just graduated and start building your career, or you are an experienced employee looking to get that desired promotion, there is a good chance you will be asked to sit one of SHL’s inductive reasoning tests. In the majority of cases, it will be the Verify Inductive Reasoning test.
In this test you are presented with a row of figures consisting of lines, shapes, arrows, etc. You need to identify the underlying pattern of that sequence and choose the figure that would come next in the series from the available options.
This type of question is highly prevalent in CEB’s SHL inductive tests, but it is possible (though not probable) to encounter other types of questions as well. For instance, you may be presented with a matrix of shapes missing a piece and be asked to identify the missing piece from the available options.
Much like other logical reasoning tests, CEB's SHL inductive reasoning test introduces you to questions your schooling or work experience may not have prepared you for. This is why many people find it to be one of the most difficult and intimidating tests delivered by SHL.
However, there is no reason for you to let this test stand in the way of getting the job you want. Preparing for it in advance can help you become familiar with the logical patterns commonly used on the test, thus making it easier for you to identify them in real time and solve questions more quickly. Gaining a sense of familiarity with the test can also reduce your tension and increase your confidence, which in turn will reflect positively on your performance.
At JobTestPrep, we believe in providing you with a complete preparation experience for your test. This is why our CEB SHL-style inductive reasoning test practice pack offers you both an extensive amount of practice materials as well as an instructional video tutorial.
This pack includes next-in-series practice questions, similar to the questions seen on SHL’s inductive reasoning tests. The pack also includes other question formats, which can help sharpen your abstract reasoning skills even more. The video tutorial found in the pack introduces you to different question formats, demonstrates patterns commonly seen on next-in-series tests, and provides you with some useful tips for solving inductive reasoning questions.
By using our SHL inductive reasoning practice resources, you can learn about commonly used logical patterns on SHL’s tests, increase your speed, and improve your overall performance on the real test.
