The Teekay Recruitment Process Preparation

Teekay was established in 1973 and has advanced from a local shipping company into one of the biggest marine energy transportation, production, and storage companies. Teekay powers the economy worldwide by bringing energy to improve their customer’s lives. Teekay employees receive rewarding opportunities and a strong sense of accomplishment while helping them achieve their individual and professional goals.

The Teekay hiring process is below:

Application: Filling out the Teekay application can be done online by entering in your details and submitting your CV. You may also apply through an employee referral or a recruiter.

Telephone Interview: Once your application is reviewed and passed on to the next stage, you may receive a call from an HR recruiter. You will then be asked screening interview questions and have an in-person interview scheduled too.

In-Person Interview: For next stage, the company will invite you to partake in one or more onsite interviews. These interviews can be conducted by a panel of interviewers or one employer.

Assessment Centre: The Teekay assessment centre interview may occur as well, taking place with a group of other candidates over the course of one day. This day may include activities, group discussions, presentations, and case studies.

Test: You may be required to take psychometric entrance exams, such as the PLI test, to showcase your range of skills and capabilities. Aptitude tests may be conducted so that employers can get a sense of your suitability for the career.

Teekay’s PLI Test Process

Companies may ask that each candidate take one or more aptitude tests to help them acquire more information about each individual, helping them discern the best candidates for the available jobs. The Predictive Index Learning Indicator (PI LI) test assesses applicants’ cognitive abilities which are needed in the workplace. The PLI test consists of exams testing one’s numerical, verbal, and non-verbal reasoning skills. Candidates’ diverse aptitudes are compared and scored before chosen for the position.

The Predictive Index (PI) consists of a Behavioural Assessment which assesses one’s personality and core qualities. This assessment rates one’s scores in regards to their character traits, such as how extroverted, formal, patient, and dominant they are. When predicting one’s potential conduct and abilities, evaluators often rely on these assessment tests as a dependable source.
