The Hiring Process at Teknologisk Institute Explained

Going through the hiring process could be difficult. Teknologisk Institute requires you to go through several tests and interviews. These are not always the same for all candidates and heavily depend on the job you are applying for. Here are the steps:

  • The online application: the specific job vacancies are listed under the menu option “vacant positions” on their website. Here you can read more about the job and apply. Make sure your CV and cover letter are proof-read and updated. An effective application will answer everything that they are asking about in the job advertisement. When they receive your application, you will be sent an automatic confirmation. Please note that they only accept electronic applications via their online job portal. The manager looking to hire a new staff member will evaluate all applications together with a person with a professional understanding of the technical job requirements. A short list of candidates will be drawn up and these candidates will then be invited to an interview.
  • Interviews: For most positions, they will typically hold two rounds of interviews. At the first interview, the manager and the head of the relevant centre will usually be present. At the second interview, you will also meet the divisional director and/or a member of their HR department. At this second interview, you will be asked to provide references.

Teknologisk Institute Interview Preparation

Here is more information about the different types of interviews that you may encounter during your hiring process at Teknologisk Institute:

  • Phone interviews. During a phone interview, candidates will usually be interview by a recruiter. The candidate will be asked a number of basic questions about the readiness to work, the salary requirements, experience, some clarifying questions about the resume etc. If the interview is successful, the candidate will be asked to come in for a face-to-face interview on company premises.
  • You may be required to participate in video interviews. Two types of video interviews exist, a live one and a pre-recorded one. A live video interview is usually conducted via Skype and is similar to an initial face-to-face interview. This type of interview can be as long as one hour. A pre-recorded video interview involves employers sending you a link to an interview platform which contains pre-determined interview questions. Here, you will have a chance to briefly view the question before you record and submit your answer.
  • Multiple levels of in-person interviews. Multiple in-person (face-to-face) interviews for Teknologisk Institute positions are a common practice to give decision makers at multiple levels the opportunity to make sure that you are the right candidate for the job. There are several interviewers like the recruiter, an HR representative, and heads of departments.
  • Case interviews. Candidates will be given information about a case. They will be expected to ask the interviewer logical questions that will help them understand the situation, probe deeper into relevant areas, gather pertinent information and arrive at a solution or recommendation for the question or situation at hand. The interviewers will be looking at how analytical and creative your thinking is.
  • Group interviews. In a group interview setting, interviewers often pose hypothetical problems or situations to the group as a whole and allow the group to engage in activities to solve or address the issue.

Tests Conducted by Teknologisk Institute

Depending on the complexity of the job you want to land, you may be asked to pass more than a few of the following tests:

  • The Predictive Index Assessment which measures four primary characteristics of personality: dominance, extroversion, patience, and formality. From the view of prospective employers, the goal in administering a PI Assessment is predicting workplace performance, and candidates' responses on the PI indicate behavioural propensities. There are two pages on the assessment, each containing a list of 86 adjectives, and the assessment is untimed.
  • A numerical reasoning test. A numerical reasoning test is an area which requires you to not only understand numerical information but also to make decisions and conclusions based on that information.
  • English tests. These tests aim to assess both written and spoken English. They are covering a number of topics such as Vocabulary, Grammar, Spelling and more.
  • A verbal reasoning test. A verbal reasoning test aims to introduce you to a higher level of reading comprehension tests. These contain passages followed by multiple-choice questions. You’ll be asked to mark a single correct answer out of available answer choices.
