Singapore Airlines Pilot Aptitude and Psychometric Tests

Pilot assessments, whether they be for PILAPT, FTOs, RAF, or airlines, typically include a series of psychometric, aptitude, and psychomotor skills tests. These tests are used in many recruitment processes. They do not examine your knowledge, but rather assess your potential job skills. Airlines like British Airways, easyJet, Emirates, and Jet2 all use assessments to ensure they are hiring the right candidates. You must secure a passing score on the pilot psychometric test to move forward in the pilot recruitment process. Ensure you are at the top of your game by preparing with JobTestPrep's pilot resources.

Singapore Airlines Situational Judgement Tests

Situational judgement tests (SJTs) are a popular psychological tool used by assessment companies, employers, and organisations to evaluate applicants' behavioural and cognitive abilities when introduced with hypothetical, daily work-related situations. SJTs do not consist of one uniform format and do not focus on strict criteria, but rather they serve as a tailored evaluation tool for a variety of positions and business sectors. Therefore, different companies and diverse positions within an organisation require different questions and formats.

Singapore Airlines Abstract Reasoning Tests

Abstract reasoning tests form a substantial part of intelligence tests, and therefore are very popular among testing companies. They are often called inductive reasoning tests or diagrammatic series tests. In these test, you are asked to identify a missing figure in a matrix or pattern, or alternatively, decide which group of matrices a certain figure best fits into.

Answers to Your Frequently Asked Questions

How Are Singapore Airlines Pilot Aptitude and Psychometric Tests Scored?

Singapore Airlines Pilot Aptitude and Psychometric aptitude tests are usually comprised of multiple-choice questions. The possible marks for each question are correct, incorrect, and unanswered. When you submit an Singapore Airlines aptitude test, your answers are first measured against the correct answers. Then, your correct answers are counted, and the rate of correct answers is calculated.

How are Singapore Airlines SJTs formulated?

The scenarios presented on SJTs always ask for a resolution of a given conflict which, although being hypothetical, might very much rely on, or represent, realistic situations that occur in a workplace. You will then be asked to choose a preferred method of action out of a number of possible options. The conflict/scenario may involve supervisor-subordinate relationships, stress and disagreement between work colleagues, etc. The situations described may vary according to the role one is applying for. Managers, police officers, sales representatives, etc. are all likely to receive different questionnaires, as they are being evaluated for specific traits and aptitudes. You are encouraged to choose your responses spontaneously, based on intuition; however, analyzing the scenarios and choosing responses that highlight your skills will allow you to better present yourself on the test.

How Long does Singapore Airlines Hiring Process Take?

The hiring process depends on the number of tasks you have to fulfil. Typically, there are hundreds, if not thousands of candidates are applying for the same job. Whilst most of them are filtered out through the use of online tests, that still leaves many who have to go through face to face assessments and interviews. We can make some generalisations though. Online tests and automatic application screening typically takes no more than a week. However, you will only know if you have gotten through to the next stage of the application process once the job posting has been closed. The company will normally take a further month to come up with a shortlist of candidates who should attend interviews and assessment centres. These assessment centres usually take place in the first three months of the year and you get the results typically about a week or two afterwards. We can, therefore, say that the entire process can take up to six months.

How should I Conduct Myself in Singapore Airlines Group Exercise?

Many applicants have a genuine difficulty showing an adequate level of involvement in the group exercise in the assessment centre and demonstrating their skills in an optimal manner. Some tend to be overly dominant and loud fearing that otherwise they may not be heard and valued. Others are introverted and quiet, fearing that their contribution may not be significant enough in comparison to others. You have to find a balance that not only suits your character but also that of the employers. For further tips see our PrepPack™.
