About the Hogan HDS
- The Hogan Development Survey (HDS) assesses the characteristics that are likely to arise during times of stress. This assessment allows employers to identify and minimise your job performance risks before they become an issue.
- The HDS takes approximately 15–20 minutes to complete.
- It is also used to identify individuals who will advance to more senior roles.
What Is Dark-Side Personality?
Dark-side personality refers to how most people behave when reacting to stressful situations. Most people will occasionally exhibit extreme (or dark-side) behaviour, usually in response to extreme pressure. This behaviour can have a very negative impact on work performance, social interactions, and overall well-being.
How Is Dark-Side Personality Measured?
The Hogan Development Survey assesses the dark-side personality with the following eleven scales:
- Excitable
- Sceptical
- Cautious
- Reserved
- Leisurely
- Bold
- Mischievous
- Colourful
- Imaginative
- Diligent
- Dutiful
