DXC Technology Talent Q-Style Assessment Tests

Talent Q assessment tests differ from other common psychometric tests with regard to concepts, test formats, and question types. They are also adaptable. Whether your response to a question is correct or incorrect, the system presents you with a subsequent question of either greater or lesser difficulty until your appropriate difficulty level is found. This ability and performance-based testing method allows for tests to be relatively shorter (a maximum of 16 minutes per Element), as candidates only answer questions adjusted to their ability level.

Talent Q Elements

The Talent Q Elements series is a collection of three different tests—numerical, verbal, and logical. These tests can be administered together or split up, depending on the job position and role. Talent Q Elements tests are used in the hiring process of supervisors, managers, and any other high-level positions. Each test has between 12 and 15 different questions that vary in difficulty level.

Talent Q Aspects & Abilities

Talent Q Aspects also contains a personality test known as Styles. Styles is a personality, competency-based questionnaire. It uses 16 different character traits to assess candidates. On this test, you are presented with a series of different statements, and you must rate how well they match your personality on a five-grade scale, from completely untrue to very true. Results are used to evaluate a candidate's personality with regards to the job application, as well as serve as a guide for an upcoming interview.

The scenarios presented on SJTs always ask for a resolution of a given conflict which, although being hypothetical, might very much rely on, or represent, realistic situations that occur in a workplace. You will then be asked to choose a preferred method of action out of a number of possible options. You are encouraged to choose your responses spontaneously, based on intuition; however, analysing the scenarios and choosing responses that highlight your skills will allow you to better present yourself on the test.

How Are DXC Technology Talent Q Tests Scored?

DXC Technology Talent Q aptitude tests are usually comprised of multiple-choice questions. The possible marks for each question are correct, incorrect, and unanswered. When you submit an DXC Technology aptitude test, your answers are first measured against the correct answers. Then, your correct answers are counted, and the rate of correct answers is calculated.

Is Being Consistent Important on Personality Tests?

Being consistent is very important when taking a personality assessment test. On personality tests, you may be asked similar questions that are worded differently. If you answer these similar questions differently, it will be reflected in your results. For instance, it could appear to assessors as if you did not answer both questions completely honestly, which may result in you not getting the job. However, being consistent is not something you need to focus on, as it is not measured. It is a problem only if you significantly contradict yourself; for example, answering "agree" to "I'm never late" and "I have a tendency to be late to some meeting." At times during the test, you may encounter similar statements but not agree or disagree with all of them; in this case, it is fine to answer differently. For example, answering "agree" to both "I prefer working with people rather than working along" and "Sometimes, I need some alone time."

How Long does DXC Technology Hiring Process Take?

The hiring process depends on the number of tasks you have to fulfil. Typically, there are hundreds, if not thousands of candidates are applying for the same job. Whilst most of them are filtered out through the use of online tests, that still leaves many who have to go through face to face assessments and interviews. We can make some generalisations though. Online tests and automatic application screening typically takes no more than a week. However, you will only know if you have gotten through to the next stage of the application process once the job posting has been closed. The company will normally take a further month to come up with a shortlist of candidates who should attend interviews and assessment centres. These assessment centres usually take place in the first three months of the year and you get the results typically about a week or two afterwards. We can, therefore, say that the entire process can take up to six months.
