What to Expect During America Movil’s Hiring Process

The hiring process can take 4 weeks and will consist of three face-to-face interviews and a number of tests. Some tests are general, while others are specific to the job you are applying for. The general required skills, as advertised by the company, are as follows:

  • Ability to follow directions of supervisory staff
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and origination skills


America Movil Interview Process

To some, the interview process at America Movil may prove long and difficult, while to others it may prove easy and short. The reason for this is that different job positions require different skills, and to test these skills, interviewers implement different techniques which include:

  • An initial phone interview. Phone interviews will be conducted via the telephone. There may be more than one interview. This type of interview is more like a screening process with limited questioning. You will go over your resume, answer some simple behavioural questions and tell more about your salary requirements, availability, work history and more. These interviews last between 10-30 minutes.
  • Video interviews. A Video interview can be live or a pre-recorded. A live video interview involves using Skype, or a similar program. It’s as simple as that. It can take between 40-60 minutes to complete. A pre-recorded interview is where are given a set of questions which you have to answer while recording yourself. You then send this video to the interviewers.
  • Multiple levels of face-to-face interviews. Face-to-face (or in-person) interviews are a series of interviews, usually three, with multiple people. These will include the HR representative, your direct superior and the head of the department.
  • Technical interviews. A typical technical interview is 45 to 60 minutes and starts with one or two quick behavioural questions. This is done in part to get additional information about the candidate, but also to ease the candidate into the interview.


Tests Conducted by America Movil

There are multiple tests which you will have to pass. The number and complexity of the tests are influenced by the complexity of the job you are applying for. These are some of the tests that you may encounter during America Movil’s hiring process:

  • A numerical reasoning test. A numerical reasoning test includes a wide range of aptitude tests, varying from basic arithmetic tests and advanced numerical reasoning tests. On numerical reasoning tests, you are often given a chart with information on it, which you then have to solve.
  • An abstract reasoning test. An abstract reasoning, or figural reasoning, test is used to assess the ability to understand and analyze visual information through pattern recognition, as well as the ability to generate hypotheses, change tracks, and critically evaluate. By utilizing shapes and images to depict specific logic patterns and/or processes, these tests are able to measure general intelligence, abstract thinking skills, and how well you can problem solve.
  • A personality test. Personality tests are one of the most interesting selection tests used by employers. As psychometric tests, they evaluate behaviour, strengths and weaknesses and work-related skills.


Traditional Interview Questions

The list of common interview questions that you may be asked during the interview process is very long, here are some common questions for you to look at:

  • What major challenges and problems have you faced? How did you handle them?
  • Tell me about a time when you disagreed with the actions or decisions of your manager or supervisor. How did you approach the situation? Was the situation resolved to your satisfaction or did nothing change?
  • What can you contribute to this company?
