Tabcorp’s Hiring Process

Once you have selected an available position for the Tabcorp jobs webpage and submitted your CV, you should anticipate the following steps in the recruitment process:

  • Phone Interview: If your CV and application have been matched for the position being offered by Tabcorp you will be contacted to participate in a phone screening interview. This interview will often be conducted by a member of the Human Resources team, or with the hiring manager for the department you have applied to.
  • Pre-Hire Test: Pre-employment assessments may follow a successful phone interview. These tests are used to evaluate your skills and abilities as they pertain to the position being offered.
  • Assessment Centre: During the Tabcorp assessment centre, you will meet with other applicants and engage in different group activities. The assessment centre may also include additional aptitude testing and interviews.
  • Personal Interviews: Not every position will require your participation in an assessment centre. If you have passed your pre-hire assessments you will be invited in for one or more onsite interviews. These interviews will either be held face-to-face or in group/ panel setting.

Tabcorp’s Revelian Tests

The purpose of the Revelian Cognitive Ability Test (RCAT) is to measure your verbal, numerical, and logical/ abstract reasoning. The different sections of the Revelian pre-hire exam are listed in more detail below:

Numerical Reasoning The numerical questions on this test are based on the four basic numerical functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. There is a wide variation of how the different questions in this test will be presented so it is best to familiarise yourself prior to taking this or any test.
Verbal Reasoning Verbal reasoning tests assess your ability to understand, analyse, and interpret information presented to you in the form of a written text. This test was designed to evaluate your basic language skills. The questions in this test will increase in difficulty as you progress further.
Logical/ Abstract Reasoning In this section of the test you will be presented with many different series of patterns and will need to deduce which picture is either part of the pattern or the odd one out.

 

Tabcorp uses the Revelian Cognitive Ability Test to not only evaluate your proficiencies in the areas stated above but also your ability to work under pressure. Your overall score will be compared to other candidates who may also be vying for the same position. The closer your score is to the company’s benchmark for the role you have selected, you will be more likely to receive a job offer.
