The Stages of British Airways Speedbird Pilot Academy Process

Stage 1
After completion of the pre-application stage, if eligible, you will progress to Stage 1.

Situational Judgement Test (SJT)

Maths Test

Checking Test
You’ll be required to quickly compare data, identify errors, and spot patterns—testing your attention to detail and focus.

Listening Accuracy Test
This assessment evaluates how well you can process and recall spoken information, often in a fast-paced or distracting context.

Stage 2
Successful candidates will undergo a series of more comprehensive psychometric assessments.
In Stage 2 of the process you will be invited to complete several psychometric assessments. Candidates that pass the tests will be invited for an online interview and group exercises.

Logical Reasoning
The Cut-e Inductive Logical Thinking Test assesses your ability to recognise and apply rules and patterns. Our PrepPack helps you master the test of recognizing the patterns of the given colour groups and assigning the unmarked grids to the group they belong to. ou can learn more about the Inductive test here.
The Cut-E Deductive Logical Thinking Test assesses your ability to learn, infer, and apply new information. Our preparation pack gives you comprehensive practice, presenting grids with a series of symbols and one cell marked with a question mark. Your task is to identify which symbol should replace the question mark so that no two identical symbols occupy the same column or row.

Verbal Reasoning
The Cut-E Verbal Reasoning Test measures your capacity to comprehend, evaluate, and interpret written material.
Our preparation pack prvides you with text sections, each accompanied by a statement. Your task is to decide whether each statement is true, false, or cannot be determined based solely on the information provided in those sections.

Monitoring Ability
In the pilot monitoring test, you’ll be shown varying numbers of moving balls. Your task is to count the balls as quickly as possible. Each correct answer will increase the difficulty.
Spatial Orientation
The Pilot cut-e Spatial Orientation Test, or the GYRO and RBI Test, involves identifying aircraft position and attitude using the GYRO and RBI indicators. You will have 3 minutes to complete the test.

Grid Challenge
An assessment of your working memory, focus, and attention. You will complete a series of visual tasks that require you to pay close attention and retain key details over time. Your goal is to track and recall important elements as they appear throughout the exercise.

This test is designed to measure your spatial orientation ability by examining your sense of direction.

Spatial Memory

You will be required to analyze a grid, plan your moves carefully, and reach a goal using the minimal number of steps while adapting to different elements on the board.
