Timken Interview and Hiring Process

To help you start your preparation process, we would like to give you some tips for the hiring process, including the interview and tests.

Analyst Hiring Process:

We obviously cannot list all the positions, but here is one example of many of what you can expect.

  • Phone Screening: A company recruiter will contact you to review your CV, give you some detail about the position and make sure you are still interested.
  • The Email: If you pass the phone screening the company will provide you an outline of the upcoming interviews you will need to pass. These include 3 interviews with HR, Hiring Manager and a panel interview.
  • HR Interview: This interview is more character-based so HR can get to know you on a personal level to make sure you are the right fit.
  • Hiring Manager and Panel: These two interviews are technically based, while of course, the right answers are of primary importance, they are also looking at how you answer them.

Questions from Analyst Interviews

  • Describe the biggest mistake you have made on a project. What is important when answering this question is not so much the mistake, but the process you used to fix and what you took away from it for future reference.
  • Have you ever disagreed with a co-worker? This answer requires a mix of mentioning skill and character. They want to see that you have the raw knowledge to correct others and the temperament to not create unnecessary conflict.

Timken Pre-Hire Testing

Here are some tests that you might be administered during the hiring process.

Logical Reasoning

The logical reasoning tests, which are commonly known as inductive reasoning tests, assess your capability to make correct conclusions and assumptions using the information presented in a sequence. Generally, this test will be used alongside other tests, such as verbal reasoning test and the numerical reasoning test.

Numerical Reasoning

Check out the following tips for acing your numerical test:

  • Research the test – Find out which test you are taking and then research everything you can about the test.
  • Know your calculator – Learn how your calculator works so you can save valuable time during the test.
  • Brush up on charts and graphs – There will be confusing graphs and charts to trip you up
  • Practising in advance will help you weed through the tricky data to find the correct answer.

Be prepared – It is essential that you take the time to understand and practise the types of questions that will appear on the test. JobTestPrep can help you become familiar with popular question formats and improve your skills so there are no surprises on test day.
