BMW Recruitment Process

The recruitment process with BMW is:

BMW Graduate Scheme

The BMW Graduate Scheme offers excellent opportunities for new graduates, provided they meet the necessary requirements. This includes being able to speak both German and English. The program is an intensive 18 month course where you will be given a chance to learn about many aspects of the business as a whole. It will consist of numerous modules, including some time abroad.

BMW Recruitment Process

The BMW Recruitment Process begins, like all graduate positions, with the online application form. This is your opportunity to shine. BMW are looking for top level graduates who have had prior experience such as internships or some relevant practical experience both at home and abroad. This will already filter out a great many potential applicants so it’s a good idea to be aware of their requirements well in advance of applying so that you have enough time to acquire this experience.

If you are shortlisted, you will be asked to take part in a telephone interview.

BMW Telephone Interview

The BMW Telephone Interview is a competency based interview. A member of BMW’s HR team will ask questions to determine your levels of motivation and knowledge about BMW and the industry in general. They will also ask you questions about your CV and prior experience. Essentially it is an opportunity for them to get to know you better. You can practice of these kinds of interviews using JobTestPrep’s interview preparation guides.

BMW Assessment Center

If you are successful in the telephone interview, you will be asked to attend the BMW Assessment center.

At the BMW Assessment center you will be required to perform a number of activities. You will almost certainly be asked to take a written exercise. This exercise is similar to a Situational Judgement Test (SJT). You can prepare for this using the materials JobTestPrep provides. In addition to the SJT, you will also have to take part in face-to-face interviews. The first round of interviews will be with a junior member of the HR team. The second round of interviews will be with a more senior member of the management team.

You can practice for face-to-face interviews with the materials that JobTestPrep provides. We think that the best way to prepare for such an interview would be a Skype based interview, which is available here.
