Jardines Talent Q-Style Elements Numerical Tests

Tests your ability at understanding numerical data including tables and figures as well as making deductions and analyses from the data. You may be presented with a table, some accompanying information and a question based on some or all of this information; you will have to choose the most appropriate answer from a list of answers. The test consists of 12 questions and there is no overall time limit for the test but rather a time limit for each question: 90 seconds for the first question on each table (or set of tables) and 75 seconds for subsequent questions. The average completion time is 12 minutes

Jardines Talent Q-Style Elements Verbal Tests

Talent Q's Elements Verbal test contains different features than other verbal tests that you may have encountered in the past. The Talent Q Elements verbal reasoning test is designed to assess your ability to understand information in a written form, evaluate arguments based on what you have read, and then answer questions accordingly. The Talent Q Elements verbal test consists of five passages and three multiple-choice questions per passage (15 questions in total). For every question, the time allocated to both read the passage and answer the question is limited – either 60 or 75 seconds per question. This means that the system will move you on to the next question when the time runs out regardless of whether you have answered the question or not. When answering questions, you are presented with a range of possible answers from which to choose. You are usually asked to decide which statement best suits the content of the text. The passages can be quite long and contain an abundance of detailed information covering regulations, finance, or other subjects relevant to the corporate sphere. Unlike other verbal tests, you may occasionally be asked to choose two correct answers. Make sure you read the question carefully as it is always made clear whether you have to make one or two choices; and unlike most verbal tests which have four answer choices, Talent Q has six answer options, making the test more difficult and time consuming. Additionally, Talent Q's elements series is adaptive, meaning that each new question is assigned on the basis of how you performed on the previous question. If you get the question right, the next question will be a little more difficult. Your final score will indicate the difficulty level of the questions you have answered.

Jardines Talent Q-Style Elements Logical Tests

Talent Q's Elements Logical is a test designed to measure your analytical and logical skills in understanding and manipulating abstract information. It is significantly different from the tests you will expect to see in any interview process. This test is a non-verbal test. It assesses your analytical and logical skills using symbols rather than words or numbers. You are given an incomplete matrix filled with shapes and asked to identify the pattern linking them together in order to choose the missing shape. The shapes are held together by a logic from both left to right and top to bottom. You are assigned 75 seconds for each question, rather than a time limit for the entire test. When your time has elapsed, the system will move you on to the next question whether you have answered or not. The questions in this test are adaptive, meaning that the system will allocate the next question based on whether you answered the previous question correctly or incorrectly. Questions will get harder the more questions you answer correctly, and your final score report will reflect how many questions you got right at each difficulty level. There is no pass or fail. There is also no high score or low score. Your results will be compared to everyone applying for the position. You will only be measured how well you did relative to your competition.

Jardines Talent Q-Style Aspects Numerical Tests

The Talent Q Aspects ability numerical test measures candidates ability to analyse and draw inferences from numerical data.

Jardines Talent Q-Style Aspects Verbal Tests

The Aspects Verbal test consists of 12 questions based on passages of text. The questions are designed to measure a candidate’s ability to interpret verbal information and reach correct conclusions.

Jardines Situational Judgement Tests

The scenarios presented on SJTs always ask for a resolution of a given conflict which, although being hypothetical, might very much rely on, or represent, realistic situations that occur in a workplace. You will then be asked to choose a preferred method of action out of a number of possible options. You are encouraged to choose your responses spontaneously, based on intuition; however, analysing the scenarios and choosing responses that highlight your skills will allow you to better present yourself on the test.

Jardines Microsoft Office Tests

The Microsoft Office assessment is usually comprised of several different tests, but it most commonly involves a Microsoft Excel test accompanied by a Microsoft Word test. Sometimes you will encounter a typing test as well. These tests often come in two different difficulty levels — basic and intermediate-advanced. Each test, regardless of its difficulty level, contains topics involving both fundamental skills as well as more sophisticated ones. What sets these tests apart is the number of questions relating to each level of Microsoft Office skills.

What Skills Do Jardines Numerical Tests Measure?

Numerical reasoning tests are designed to look at the range of skills and abilities needed to perform almost any job. Basic maths or computations skills, such as the four basic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division), percentages, and ratios, to name a few, are all needed on a daily basis. Being able to understand and analyse graphs and other numerical data is necessary for many graduate and management positions. If you work in the finance or banking sector, financial reasoning skills are a must. As part of the hiring process, technical jobs often require applicants to have speed and concentration when working with numerical data. Critical reasoning is necessary for many high-level positions, while estimation skills are also a big advantage in many jobs.

What should I Emphasize During my Jardines Interview?

Typically you should emphasise why you are the correct choice for the job. You should bring in good examples from past experiences to show that you have the skills needed to succeed. Use the STAR method (link to STAR method page) to answer questions as this provides a complete picture and is an engaging way to answer.

What is the Jardines's Face to Face Interview?

There are several different types of questions you may face during your interviews. Most interviews consist of competency-based questions, but some include job-related questions, maths problems, or riddles. You can also expect to be asked about your CV and your motivation regarding the position for which you are applying. To help you prepare for your interview and other assessments, we have created a unique preparation pack with all the resources you need. The pack features a detailed interview guide written by our accredited psychologists. This guide covers various aspects of interviews and offers important tips. It discusses, among other things, competency-based questions and how to use the STAR method when answering them. It also provides advice on how to answer common interview questions. Going over these principles and reading the guide can help you prepare for your interviews.

What is Jardines Hiring Process Like?

Jardines hiring processes follow similar patterns for each type of recruitment, but the exercises you will encounter depend on the level you are applying to. There are also some differences at each level between technical recruitment and business roles. You can be requested to interviews, to complete aptitude tests, and to attend an assessment centre.

How can I Succeed in Case Study Exercise on Jardines Assessment Day?

"Delve into" the case study. Reflect your thoughts as the character you were assigned to, and address the corresponding characters you have been asked to report to.

The test demands time management, prioritisation and distinction between important and peripheral. Case study exercises are usually designed to have more than one 'correct' answer; as long as you logically justify your recommendations and they stand up to questioning by the assessor, then your analysis can be regarded in a positive light.

Don't spend too much time trying to learn the nuances of a particular industry. Focus instead on tackling common challenges faced by most businesses. But don't hesitate to clarify pertinent questions, as listening to clients is just as important as advising them.

Remember, this is a real client case, so you want to establish the needs of the clients before you can give advice! Be confident but not arrogant. When presenting, one must give off the notion that one is speaking with an air of knowledge and authority. However, no one likes it when this turns into over confidence. If this happens, one might end up not listening and missing vital cues from the questioner, and of course clients won't like this either. Even though you are working against the clock, take the time to analyse the situation before attempting to make notes or answer the questions.
