AF Group Matrigma-Style Online Tests

Matrigma is cognitive ability test used to assess your ability to solve problems and draw conclusions. The test is generally done online and consists of about 35 items that must be completed within a 40-minute time limit. Passing the Matrigma test successfully shows your future employer that you possess critical reasoning skills, clear thinking, and advanced learning skills. These abilities are crucial for almost any position.

AF Group Numerical Tests:Your ability to understand and make decisions based on numerical data is key to successfully passing pre-hire math test, also known as numerical or quantitative reasoning tests. As the test will often be part of the online application, be sure to prepare prior to opening that online form.

The AF Group's Verbal Reasoning Tests: This test is a variety of aptitude assessment that estimates how well job candidates understand and analyze written information. It measures whether they can follow a text’s argumentative verbal logic and discriminate between important and secondary information presented in it. Their understanding of the text’s general meaning is estimated as well. On the Verbal Reasoning Test, job candidates are asked to read several short passages and judge a truth-value of statements that immediately follow them. After you have identified the relation of each proposition to truth, you will be required to mark these statements either as “True” or “False.” There are also statements whose truth-value is impossible to assess due to the insufficiency of information presented in the text. If this is the case, you will need to mark a statement under consideration as “Indeterminate.” The Verbal Reasoning Test is timed; no extra time is given to those who have not finished it within a prescribed time limit.

AF Group Assessment Centre Information

An assessment centre may be the final stage of your application process. The assessment day takes place either at the company campus or at a hired venue. You are evaluated by a series of assessment centre exercises, including both individual and group tasks. These exercises may include an aptitude test, a role-play, a case study, a presentation and an interview. This day gives your prospective employer a rounded profile of your competencies and an insight into your performance in the workplace.

Answers to Your Frequently Asked Questions

Why Does AF Group Use Aptitude Tests?

AF Group uses a variety of aptitude tests during their application process to assess not only your abilities for the job being offered, but also to evaluate your compatibility and cooperativeness in the workplace. The tests that you have to take are generally multiple choice and scored based on the number of questions you have answered correctly. Your score is then compared to those of other applicants against the average score.

What is the AF Group's Panel Interview?

A panel interview is often a part of the AF Group's face-to-face interview process and usually takes place in one of its locations. A panel interview presupposes an interview with four or five people simultaneously. Usually, you will have a conversation with a HR representative, with managers of several departments, your prospective managers, and team leaders. Questions asked in the panel interview are usually competency-based. But you can also expect situational questions, in answering which you will need to describe a situation where you encountered and successfully solved a problem by taking certain actions. If you apply for a technical position, you may also be asked technical questions aimed to evaluate your professionalism. The panel interview may last up to several hours.

Why do Some Companies Invite Job Applicants to Their Assessment Centres?

Many employers have come to believe that interviewing job candidates does not present them with the full and exact picture of their personalities. Even testing applicants does not always put them in a true light. To increase the precision of their evaluations, many employers have lately started to invite prospective employees to assessment centres, where they take different tests and participate in such activities as group discussions, presentations, role playing, social events, and case studies. The combination of these activities and tests produces a more exact estimation of applicants’ aptitude for a desired position, because involved in so many events at the assessment centre, they can demonstrate more professional traits and more facets of their personalities.
