Petronas Interview – What You Need to Know

As you approach your Petronas Interview, you may not know what to expect. Here are a few sample questions from recent interviews:

Engineer Interview

The engineering interview will be broken down into three segments. First, they will review your work history and ask questions regarding your skill-sets. Second, you will take part in a case study. Lastly will include role plating, based on a real work situation.

• Q: What is your greatest weakness?
• A: There are a few ways to answer this question. However, you might want to talk about your skills in the process of strengthening.
• Q: What does it take to become a serious player in the industry?
• A: Read up and do throughout the research. Look up the top 5 and see what they have in common.

Executive Interview

• Q: Where do you see your career in 5-10 years’ time?
• A: This is one of the hardest questions to answer. The best option is to stick to the job at hand and speak about all the steps you will take over the next several years to advance the goals of the company.
• Q: Give an example of a difficult problem you solved and how you did it?
• A: Give an example of where you took charge of a situation and turned it around. Talk about your communication and negotiating skills, for instance.

Mathematical Reasoning Test

Pre-hire maths tests help your employer evaluate and assess your ability to efficiently and effectively analyse numerical data. These tests will give insight on your ability to use data in order to solve business-related problems.

Excel Test

This test will probably include almost no advanced questions, such as functions and macros. Most of the questions deal with basic formatting, standard tables and basic commands, such as saving and printing properties (page breaks and print area definition). You will also be required to know how to define a cell reference, filter and sort data, as well as manage the page layout.
