What to Expect During CED’s Hiring Process

The hiring process, which could take 5 weeks, requires you to take some tests, prior to coming to the interviews. These are usually online assessments which focus on testing your basic skills like language, typing, and communication, as well as some basic math. If you look closely at their job applications, you will see that there are a number of skills that all candidates are required to have, and these are:

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Analytical, organizational, decision making, and problem-solving skills

 

The Interviews at CED

The hiring process at CED involves a series of different interviews which include:

  • An initial phone interview. A phone interview, in which you will tell about yourself and go over your resume. The questions are primarily there to assess your personality as well as to clarify what your salary desires are, your availability etc. These could take 30 minutes, sometimes more.
  • Several levels of in-person interviews. If the initial phone interview is successful, you will be invited by CED to participate in one or more face-to-face (in-person) interviews with a member of the management team, a mix of managers, HR representatives, and potential co-workers.
  • You may be required to go through technical interviews. A typical technical interview is 45 to 60 minutes and starts with one or two quick behavioral questions. This is done in part to get additional information about the candidate, but also to ease the candidate into the interview. 

 

The Testing Process at CED

During the hiring process at CED, you will be required to pass certain tests. The more important test will be the Wonderlic test. It consists of several sub-sections which include:

  • The Cognitive Ability Test: This test has 50 questions and must be completed within 12 minutes. With just over 14 seconds per question, the Wonderlic Cognitive Ability Test, also named Wonderlic Personnel Test, requires strong analytic skills, quick response times, and good decision-making under time pressure. It is used mainly in job selection and admissions processes and includes math, English, logic, general knowledge, and clerical multiple-choice questions.
  • The Basic Skills Test: The Wonderlic Basic Skills Test (WBST) is a short-form exam of basic verbal and quantitative skills designed mainly to help in screening candidates for entry-level positions and for an educational program or college eligibility. The Wonderlic Basic Skills Test consists of two sections: verbal (50 questions) and quantitative (45 questions). Each section is 20 minutes long.
  • The SLE Test: The Wonderlic SLE Test is used by various academic institutions and professional programs for admission and placement purposes. It consists of 50 questions which need to be completed within 12 minutes. The Wonderlic SLE test includes different question types used to assess a student’s cognitive abilities. The main topics of the test are math, English, logic, and general knowledge.
  • The Wonderlic Personality Test: The Wonderlic Personality Tests evaluate a list of traits that may provide an employer with a better understanding of the personality of the candidate in question, in order to determine if s/he is suitable for the position. There are three Wonderlic Personality Tests and they are each administered differently and assess different qualities: Personal Characteristics Inventory (PCI) – 150 questions, Comprehensive Personality Profile (CPP) – 88 questions, Wonderlic Productivity Index (WPI) – 90 questions.
