JobTestPrep’s Anglo American PLC PrepPacks™

During the recruitment process, you'll be asked to take a number of different Anglo American PLC tests. You are asked to complete these tests online. These tests are in general provided by CEB SHL & Watson Glaser. To successfully move on to the next stage of the hiring process, utilise JobTestPrep's comprehensive preparation packages to give yourself the best chance of success.

Anglo American PLC Watson-Glaser-Style Tests

The Watson Glaser test is divided into five sections – Inference, recognizing assumptions, deduction, interpretation, and evaluation of arguments. Each section has its own question type that assesses a particular critical thinking ability. The test is verbal, and requires a deep and concise understanding of when and to what extent of certainty can one draw conclusions based on given data; the ability to determine whether certain assumptions have been made in a text, be they true or not; and objectively assessing the validity of arguments, regardless of prejudice or personal experience.

The short version, which is commonly used today, includes 40 questions and takes between 20 to 30 minutes to complete.

Practicing these types of questions before taking the test is critical, because the differences between some of the sections are minute, and because the rules of deduction of the Watson Glaser test are different from other known deduction tests.

Anglo American PLC CEB SHL-Style Numerical Reasoning Tests

There are several different types and styles of SHL CEB numerical reasoning tests. They range from the high level graduate/management tests to operational level. Our PrepPacks™ have been created to cover a wide spectrum of questions and test types in order to give you the complete preparation for your upcoming test.

Anglo American PLC CEB SHL-Style Verbal Reasoning Tests

There are various levels of SHL CEB verbal tests. In the operational level of tests you are assessed most typically on your ability to: follow instructions, comprehend verbal passages, show technical understanding, complete sentences, as well as various other verbal related tasks. The skills are assessed on a deeper level in the graduate level tests. In order to understand how to answer the questions it is imperative you learn the skills needed. This can be done through using our specially prepared PrepPacks which give you not only the skills needed to answer the questions correctly but also the understanding of how to complete the entire test in the time allotted.

Anglo American PLC CEB SHL-Style Logical/ Inductive Reasoning Tests

In this test you are presented with a row of figures consisting of lines, shapes, arrows, etc. You need to identify the underlying pattern of that sequence and choose the figure that would come next in the series from the available options. This type of question is highly prevalent in CEB’s SHL inductive tests, but it is possible (though not probable) to encounter other types of questions as well. For instance, you may be presented with a matrix of shapes missing a piece and be asked to identify the missing piece from the available options.

Anglo American PLC CEB SHL-Style OPQ32 Personality Tests

The test is comprised of a maximum of 104 questions which measure 32 specific personality characteristics. It is highly complex and is administered on a computer. The candidate is presented with a block of four statements and must choose which of the statements best describes him and which of the statements least describes him. For example: Choose ONE statement that is Most and one that is Least like you:

  • I really like to help others.
  • I work best in teams.
  • I like to get things exactly right.
  • I sustain high levels of energy

JobTestPrep Answers Your Frequently Asked Questions

Why Does Anglo American PLC Use Aptitude Tests?

Anglo American PLC uses aptitude tests during their recruitment process in order to assess not only your abilities for the job being offered, but also to evaluate your compatibility and cooperativeness in the workplace. These tests are generally multiple choice and scored based on the number of questions you have answered correctly. Your score is then compared to those of other applicants against the average score.

Should I Choose "Strongly Agree/Disagree" or "Agree/Disagree in the Anglo American PLC Personality Tests?"

There are different kinds of questions found on personality assessment tests. When given a statement with extreme statements such as "always" and "never," you should answer them with less extreme answers such as "agree" and "not strongly agree." However, there are times during a personality test in which you should choose "strongly agree" or "strongly disagree." You should choose "strongly agree" when the following types of questions are asked:

  • Most people are honest by nature.
  • Most people can be trusted.
  • Very few people steal at work.
  • I cannot remember the last time I lost my temper at work.
  • I rarely worry about how well I'm doing at my job.

You should choose strongly disagree when asked the following types of questions:

  • It is human nature to steal from others.
  • Most people cannot be trusted.
  • Sometimes my co-workers annoy me.
  • I sometimes worry about losing my job because of office politics.
  • Sometimes I don't feel able to handle all my work responsibilities.

What Questions do the Anglo American PLC's Representatives ask in a Phone Interview?

You may also discuss the company’s business objectives, your future duties, and benefits you will be given, if you qualify for the position. If your phone interview goes well, you will receive a link to the online test that you need to pass in order to move to the next stage in the hiring process.

What Should I Expect during the Anglo American PLC Recruitment Process?

The recruitment process for Anglo American PLC can vary depending on the position you have applied for. After you have submitted your application you should expect to be contacted for an interview. If you pass the initial interview, the company will then request that you take one or more aptitude tests to assess your compatibility with the duties you will be performing on the job, as well as within the workplace. These tests will most likely be conducted at the Anglo American PLC assessment centre alongside several other candidates.

Why Do Some Companies Invite Job Applicants to Their Assessment Centres?

Many employers have come to believe that interviewing job candidates does not present them with the full and exact picture of their personalities. Even testing applicants does not always put them in a true light. To increase the precision of their evaluations, many employers have lately started to invite prospective employees to assessment centres, where they take different tests and participate in such activities as group discussions, presentations, role playing, social events, and case studies. The combination of these activities and tests produces a more exact estimation of applicants’ aptitude for a desired position, because involved in so many events at the assessment centre, they can demonstrate more professional traits and more facets of their personalities.
