Top Tips for the Arctic Shores Games

Read on to explore valuable, expert tips to help you excel in Arctic Shores' game-based assessments so you can approach each challenge with more confidence and focus.

Tip 1: Order Game

order game

This game measures your abstract reasoning and your ability to recognize relationships within complex patterns.

In this game, it's important to observe how the features of each shape change over time. Usually, there are specific rules that are repeated throughout the game. We suggest practicing recognizing patterns and naming the types of rules. For example, shapes that change places can be called "switchers." This will help you become more efficient at pattern recognition.

Tip 2: Sequence Game

The Sequences game measures memory. Each turn provides a sequence of stamps that must be memorized and copied.

One effective way to improve your memory is to develop a memorization method that suits your strengths. For example, if you have strong visual skills, you can imagine a line or path connecting the sequence of items. Creating a mental image like this can help you remember the order more naturally.

Tip 3: Energy (Power Generator) Game

energy game

The Energy Game tests your decision-making, risk tolerance, and pattern recognition. In each round, you select panels that affect your energy level, aiming to collect as much energy as possible.

To find patterns, start by pressing each panel multiple times and record your profits and losses to better understand their risk ratios. This initial data will help you identify how each panel behaves and make smarter, more informed decisions as the game progresses.

Tip 4: Direction (Arrows) Game

arrows game

The Direction Game tests your ability to learn, adapt, and switch between tasks quickly. Each round shows arrows pointing left or right — respond fast and accurately based on the given rules.

To succeed in this game, it's essential to stay calm and focused. If you make a mistake, don’t get discouraged — just reset and focus on the next arrow. Additionally, pay close attention to the instructions: usually, you need to follow the direction of the central arrow in the stimulus. If this is the case, focus solely on that to help you answer quickly.

Tip 5: Team Sales

team sales game

This game focuses on decision-making and risk-taking. In each round, you and a computerized team choose between two pricing options. Your choices affect both your team’s earnings and the company’s total revenue — the combined result of both teams’ decisions. Your goal: outperform the computer while helping the company succeed.

What matters most is how your choices reflect the qualities required for the role you're applying for. If the position values boldness and initiative, lean toward riskier pricing strategies, even if they carry uncertainty. If the role emphasizes caution and consistency, choose more stable options.

Your decisions should demonstrate that you understand the expectations of the role and can act accordingly. Think of each round as a chance to show how you balance personal success with broader business goals—just like in a real work environment.

Tip 6: Tickets Game

tickets game

The Tickets Game is a cognitive assessment designed to test your focus, quick decision-making, and patience under pressure. In this game, you will see shapes containing a number between 1 and 9, appear briefly on two tickets stacked. Your task is to answer a specific yes/no question, depending on which ticket the shape appears on.

Our recommendation is to practice realistic simulations of the game and develop a steady response rhythm. This rhythm will help you stay consistent in your reaction timing and reduce the chances of receiving feedback like “Too Early” or “Too Slow.” Consistency is key: a rhythmic approach not only improves your timing but also helps reduce stress and cognitive overload during the test. The more automatic your responses become, the more mental space you'll have to focus on accuracy and adapting to changing instructions.

Tip 7: Balloon Game

balloon game

The Balloon Game is designed to evaluate your risk-taking and learning skills. Your goal is to earn as much money as possible by strategically inflating balloons without causing them to pop.

We recommend starting by estimating the probability that each balloon shape will explode. To do this effectively, begin by documenting what happens during the early stages of the game—track which shapes explode and how often. This observation phase will help you identify patterns and associate each shape with its likelihood of exploding.

Once you've matched the explosion probability to each shape based on your initial data, you can plan your moves more strategically. Understanding the risk level of each balloon allows you to make informed decisions that balance caution and reward throughout the game.

Tip 8: Expressions Game

expressions game

This game evaluates key behavioral traits, including Attention to Detail and Emotional Intelligence.  Your goal is to identify the emotion conveyed in the character’s expression accurately.

To do this effectively, take your time to carefully analyze each face before making your selection—rushing can lead to errors. It's essential to focus on subtle cues and small details that reveal the underlying emotion. To boost your accuracy and confidence, we recommend practicing how to spot slight differences between similar expressions, such as distinguishing between surprise and fear.

Tip 9: Security Door Game

security door game

The Security Game is designed to evaluate both cognitive skills and behavioral traits. You will be presented with a code lock. Your job is to form the passcode of the lock by stopping the rotating area on the highlighted number.

While it may initially appear to be a straightforward movement-planning task, the game has a deeper layer. Success requires mastering both the surface-level mechanics and the underlying behavioral elements.

To perform well, account for response delays—for example, if the hand stops two digits ahead, press the spacebar two digits earlier.
Beyond mechanics, the game also tests your persistence, self-control, and strategic thinking, demonstrating that you should follow instructions carefully and stay engaged with the game’s display.

Tip 10: Pattern Game

pattern game

The Pattern Test assesses your ability to recognize patterns and your logical reasoning. In each question, identify the rule behind a sequence of figures and choose the one that completes it.

As in the Order Game, we recommend practicing how to recognize patterns. In this task, each shape within the figure may follow a different logical rule or transformation. That means you can’t assume a single pattern applies to the entire figure — you’ll need to analyze each shape individually.

Tip 11: Analysis

This test measures your analytical thinking and ability to interpret data under time pressure. Unlike the other tasks, it’s a standard multiple-choice format based on tables and charts.

As with any numerical task, practice is essential. To prepare effectively, simulate the test environment by solving similar data-based questions within a time limit. Over time, you’ll develop strategies for scanning data, spotting trends, and avoiding common traps — all of which will help you perform at your best on test day.
