Wood Hiring Process
Wood’s goal is to help their employees achieve their life goals and hope to find people who line up with the dream of the company. Below is a sample of what to expect in the upcoming weeks:
CV Submission: A majority of past Wood job seekers are referred to the company via friends who are already established in the company. Besides applying online, Wood also takes a special interest in new college graduates. Many times a representative of the company will attend college fairs to recruit more workers.
Pre-Employment Telephone Screening: In some cases, you will be contacted for a telephone interview, not once, but twice. The first screening is typically with HR. The second is with someone in your department.
Face-to-Face Interview: Since interviewing typically relies on telephone interviews, when you make it to the in-person interview you can expect that the interview will be conducted by the director and vice president of Wood itself.
Assessment Centre: In some cases, you will be asked to attend an assessment centre event. In these events, you can expect to spend an entire day attending presentations to expand your knowledge of the company, displaying your personality with various teambuilding exercises and role-playing competitions. You also will enter group and single interviews, meet future coworkers and upper management personnel. Good luck!
Wood Interview Questions
Interview questions are far from typical in Wood’s recruitment process. Some past applicants have admitted that it’s more of a “meet and greet” than an interview. After initial personality questions, job, company, industry and how this position relates to you will be discussed. We recommend you responding using the STAR method. Here are some examples:
What do you hope to obtain in life?/How does our position fit into the picture?
Where do you see yourself in five years?
What draws you to Wood?
