Lhoist Hiring Process

Lhoist’s strategy is to get you through the recruitment process as quickly as possible. Below is a typical hiring process timeline:

  • Online CV Submission: Most past Lhoist applicants have applied through an outside staffing agency. However, it is possible to apply through Lhoist’s main website. On the website, you can see a list of current jobs along with a description and requirements.
  • Online Assessment: If the Lhoist management is impressed with your CV, you will receive an invitation to take a few online assessment tests. The tests will reflect the position you are applying for. For example, if you are applying for a mechanical position, you will take a mechanical aptitude test. In almost every situation you will also encounter an SJT and personality test. This is to allow Lhoist’s staff to see if you would be a good fit for the overall Lhoist company and be able to contribute greatly to the specific position you are applying for.
  • Pre-Employment Telephone/Face-to-Face Interview: Lhoist does not want to waste your time nor theirs. Most times, they will either call you or have you come in for the interview. There likely will not be a second interview. Note: if you are applying for an upper-management position, expect to have more interviews.
  • Background and medical checks: As the last step to joining the Lhoist established team, you will a series of background and medical checks. If you pass, then congratulations, you have just joined Lhoist's staff!
  • Assessment Centre: In rare occurrence, you will be invited to an assessment centre. These events are conducted when Lhoist is in desperate need of new employees and want to do a mass hiring spree. From the event, you can expect to take part in role-playing and team-build exercises with other competitors. You will listen to presentations to understand more about the company as a whole and have solo and group interviews.
