Bird and Bird Application Process

The Bird & Bird recruitment process can be difficult due to the popularity of the Bird and Bird training contract and being one of the world's leading law firms. The PrepPack™ is a well-known and trusted resource when it comes to job recruitment preparation. Once you have submitted your Bird and Bird online application, you will be requested to complete an online test. This test is the Watson Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal (WGCTA), also known as the Watson Glaser. Once completed, the application form and Bird and Bird online test will be evaluated. Successful candidates are invited to the next stage in the process, which is the Bird and Bird video interview. Selected candidates are then invited to the Bird and Bird assessment day. Unfortunately, Bird and Bird candidates who have applied previously in the same recruitment year, but have been unsuccessful at either application or interview, need to wait till the next recruitment year before submitting another Bird and Bird application.

Bird and Bird Watson Glaser Tests

The Bird & Bird Critical Thinking test is divided into five sections – Inference, recognizing assumptions, deduction, interpretation and evaluation of arguments. Each section has its own question type that assesses a particular critical thinking ability. This Bird and Bird test is verbal and requires a deep and concise understanding of when and to what extent of certainty can one draw conclusions, based on given data; the ability to determine whether certain assumptions have been made in a text, be they true or not; and objectively assessing the validity of arguments, regardless of prejudice or personal experience. The short version, which is commonly used today, includes 40 questions and takes between 20 to 30 minutes to complete. Practising these types of questions before taking the test is critical, because the differences between some of the sections are minute and the rules of deduction of the Watson Glaser test are different from other known deduction tests.

Bird and Bird Video Interview

Just as the assessment name suggests, the Bird & Bird video interviews are interviews via video. This means that staff will interview you via Skype, or send you a link to an interview platform that contains pre-determined Bird and Bird interview questions, in the style of a pre-recorded interview. Here, you will have a chance to briefly view the question before you record and submit your answer. Although seemingly easier, this method of interviewing means you do not have a chance to expand upon your answers or explain yourself further. Bird and Bird video interviews are not like in-person interviews. They require you to keep several unique and challenging aspects in mind while recording your Bird and Bird interview answers. The PrepPack™ provides preparation packs for video interviews.

Bird and Bird Assessment Day

The Bird and Bird assessment centre is used to evaluate and screen large numbers of applicants not only in key areas associated with the job description, but also for their specific working environment. During the course of the Bird & Bird assessment day, you will be met with a variety of tests, group exercises and interviews. This mix of activities was designed to assist the company in building a more precise outline of your strengths and weaknesses as they pertain to the available position.

How Are Bird & Bird Watson Glaser Tests Scored?

Bird & Bird Watson Glaser aptitude tests are usually comprised of multiple-choice questions. The possible marks for each question are correct, incorrect and unanswered. When you submit a Bird & Bird aptitude test, your answers are first measured against the correct answers. Then, your correct answers are counted and the rate of correct answers is calculated.
