The McQuaig Mental Agility Test (MMAT Test) is a short test with a 15-minute time limit, consisting of 50 multiple-choice questions in mixed order. The McQuaig test aims to assess your ability to quickly consider data, perform under pressure, and evaluate problem-solving skills and decision-making competencies.
The main challenge of it is correctly answering as many questions as possible at a tight time limit of only 18 seconds per question. Your goal here is not to complete all 50 questions, as very few people can do this, but to answer as many questions as possible fast and error-free. Therefore, getting a good score requires much effort and preparation.

The questions on the McQuaig Mental Agility Test are divided into three different types:
There are 15 math questions in the test, and their main goal is to assess how you process numerical data, like percentage calculations, multiple-step word problems, series completions, arithmetics calculations, etc. During testing, electronic devices are not permitted (such as phones or calculators). However, you can use a blank sheet of paper for calculations.
There are 17 verbal reasoning questions in the test, and their main goal is to assess your verbal comprehension abilities using deductive and inductive methods. To solve the verbal reasoning questions, you’ll need to derive conclusions from statements that appear to be ambiguous. Additionally, you might be asked to identify a syllogism, which is a form of deductive reasoning.
There are 18 vocabulary questions in the test, and their main goal is to assess your language skills and vocabulary. Mostly, MMAT test vocabulary questions will revolve specifically around synonyms and antonyms.
As mentioned before, proper practice and familiarity with the test questions significantly reduce stress and anxiety on test day and raise your chance for success. That's precisely why our experts at JobTestPrep have made a dedicated short free sample test for you.

The MMAT is designed to be used by companies as a screening tool throughout the recruitment process.
You may be required to take the MMAT in any of the following situations:
When applying for a new job, you may be asked to take the MMAT. In some workplaces, the test is always used as part of the recruiting process. In other workplaces, however, the test is only used when all applicants are equally eligible and deciding who to recruit is difficult.
The MMAT may also be used to determine an appropriate standard for a specific position by a current employee who has done an excellent job. Or one who has resigned but is still employed.
The test can shed more light on which type of person is most likely to succeed in that position.
If you work in marketing, for example, your vocabulary score might be more important. Technicians, on the other hand, may require a higher score in the mathematical section.
Lastly, you may take the MMAT if you apply for a position internally or if your employer thinks you are eligible for promotion. The MMAT determines which candidates will be a good fit for a management position.
