The hiring process at Zeiss

 

  • An online application: the first step is applying online. You will be required to send your CV and a cover letter. Make sure that they are updated and proof-read.
  • The next step will be a screening interview, conducted by phone. Here you will discuss your CV with the recruiter.
  • If all goes well, you will be invited to participate in assessment and interviews. The assessments include CEB’s SHL assessments.
  • Your final interviews can take several forms. The most common is the face-to-face interviews. However, you may also be required to participate in group interviews or a panel interview.

 

CEB’s SHL Tests at Zeiss

The number, type, and level of tests you will need to take depend on the role for which you are applying. Below we will focus on the different tests applicants for Zeiss graduate schemes, graduate jobs, and internships may be asked to take.

  • A Numerical Test: On the test, you are presented with different numerical data items in the form of graphs and tables. After careful analysis of the figures, you need to answer multiple choice questions relating to the data.
  • A Verbal Reasoning Test: This test is designed to assess how well you use written information. You will be presented with a paragraph of text and a statement based on that text. You need to come to a conclusion as to whether this statement is true, false, or impossible to say based on the text presented.
  • A Logical Reasoning Test: On this test, you are presented with a series of shapes following some pattern. Your task is to identify this pattern and choose the next shape in the sequence from a list of options.
  • A Situational Judgement Test: On this assessment, you are presented with a number of different work-based scenarios and a series of potential responses to those situations. You must choose the responses you find most and least effective.
