UBS CEB's SHL Numerical Reasoning Test

This is an online 18-question test that takes 25 minutes to complete. This test is later verified with a shorter version that is taken at the assessment center. It is designed to estimate job candidates’ ability to make decisions or inferences from statistical or numerical data. Questions on the Verify Numerical Reasoning Test are presented in the form of graphs and charts. Only instructions to them are verbally formulated. To answer the test’s questions, you will need to perform calculations and then choose a correct answer among several alternatives. As a rule, the test is offered to applicants vying for the positions in the fields of finance, professional services, production, sales, and information technology.

UBS CEB's SHL Verbal Reasoning Test

The CEB SHL-style Verify verbal reasoning test measures the candidate ability to fully comprehend written passages. The passages are harder than most reading comprehension passages, and many time the questions cannot be answered without deduction, inference, and logical understanding. There are 10 passages and 30 arguments in the test, each of them the candidate needs to determine if they are True, False, or that he Cannot Say. For the 30 questions the candidate has 19 minutes. Practicing this test will improve the candidate reading abilities and his deduction skills.

UBS CEB's SHL Inductive Reasoning Online Tests

In this test you are presented with a row of figures consisting of lines, shapes, arrows, etc. You need to identify the underlying pattern of that sequence and choose the figure that would come next in the series from the available options. This type of question is highly prevalent in CEB’s SHL inductive tests, but it is possible (though not probable) to encounter other types of questions as well. For instance, you may be presented with a matrix of shapes missing a piece and be asked to identify the missing piece from the available options.

 UBS Situational Judgement Online Tests

Situational Judgement Tests depict realistic situations and conflicts which are likely to arise in the daily work routine, and provide responses for resolution. Candidates are asked to choose, rate or rank-order these responses. SJTs assess desired competencies and skills.

UBS Corporate Client Solutions Position FAQs

What Skills Do Numerical Tests Measure?

Numerical reasoning tests are designed to look at the range of skills and abilities needed to perform almost any job. Basic maths or computations skills, such as the four basic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division), percentages, and ratios, to name a few, are all needed on a daily basis. Being able to understand and analyse graphs and other numerical data is necessary for many graduate and management positions. If you work in the finance or banking sector, financial reasoning skills are a must. As part of the hiring process, technical jobs often require applicants to have speed and concentration when working with numerical data. Critical reasoning is necessary for many high-level positions, while estimation skills are also a big advantage in many jobs.

How Are CEB SHL Tests Scored?

SHL aptitude tests are usually comprised of multiple-choice questions. The possible marks for each question are correct, incorrect, and unanswered. When you submit an SHL aptitude test, your answers are first measured against the correct answers. Then, your correct answers are counted, and the rate of correct answers is calculated. To learn more about how results are calculated, read more on the SHL test results page
