The Hiring Process at Telenor

The hiring process consists of interviews and several tests and could take more than 3 weeks, in some cases. The types of interviews and tests depend on what country the interview takes place in and what specific job you are applying to. The general required skills, as advertised by the company, are as follows:

  • Ability to maintain information in appropriate channels with specific attention to confidentially.
  • Attention to detail with excellent time management skills.
  • Critical logic, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.

 

The Tests at Telenor

There are several tests that candidates will be required to pass. Some are specific to the country in which the interviews take place, others are general and required by all candidates and which take place in assessment centres. The most commonly employed assessments are the aptitude tests provided by Cut-e.

  • The online assessment – which has 4 parts: verbal, numerical, and two logical reasoning tests.
  • The English test – designed to test your English level.
  • Finally, the CUT-E tests. The CUT-E (created by Aon) consists of several parts. The first part is the Numerical Reasoning. The numerical reasoning test assesses numerical abilities as well as the ability to find your way through a relatively large amount of data in a short period of time. There are six sheets of numerical data represented in graphs and tables. Each question refers to one of the charts and presents a statement based on the information in that chart. The task is to find the relevant chart and determine whether the statement is true or false based on the information, or perhaps there is not enough data to decide either way. The test includes 37 questions which need to be answered within 12 minutes. Next, there is the verbal reasoning. The verbal reasoning tests measure understanding and analysis of complex verbal information. Most verbal reasoning tests present one long passage at a time, whereas in this test you are required to handle multiple shorter passages simultaneously. Each passage is displayed in a separate sheet so that only one passage is visible at a given moment. The questions are statements you need to evaluate based on the relevant passage. A statement can be true, false, or the provided information is insufficient to arrive at a firm conclusion. There are 12 minutes to evaluate 49 statements in total, so time is another important factor.

 

The Interviews at Telenor

There are several types of interviews in the hiring process that you may come across. These, too, depending on the country you are being interviewed in as well as the position you are applying for. You may come across the following interview types:

  • A pre-recorded video interview.
  • A Skype interview.
  • A panel interview. In the panel interview, you will be interviewed by 3 people simultaneously. Each will ask you several questions. This interview will take about 30 minutes.
  • A case study interview. You will be given a case study about Telenor and you will be required to answer questions about Telenor’s activities.
  • Face-to-face interviews. These will be with the recruiter, the HR representative and the Hiring manager. These are usually done separately.
