Prepare for SGS's Tests

As a leader in providing inspection, verification, testing and certification services for a variety of industries, SGS is always on the lookout for talented individuals in many different fields. The different steps in the SGS hiring process are:

  • Online Application: To begin the application process, you will need to select a position from the jobs webpage and upload your CV.
  • Additional Screening: If your CV is matched for the position you have applied for, an HR recruiter will contact you to participate in either a phone or video interview. Video interviews are often conducted using either Skype or Zoom.
  • Employment Exam: Your pre-hire tests will depend on the role you are pursuing within SGS.
  • Assessment Centre: Depending on the position or department you have applied for a position in you may need to participate in an assessment centre. Assessment centres will involve many other applicants and include group activities, role-playing exercises, and additional testing if need be.
  • In-Person Interview: Your in-person interview or interviews will either be part of an assessment centre, or held independently. You may be interviewed by more than one supervisor during the face-to-face interview process.

It should be noted that job offers may be contingent on passing a drug screening.

SGS’s Interview Questions

Your SGS interview will be used to determine not only your suitability for the position or internship program you have selected but also for your potential success within the company. Samples of the questions you may be posed during the interview process can be found below:

  • Describe a time when you set a goal and weren’t able to meet or achieve it.
  • Give an example of when you showed initiative and took the lead.
  • Describe a time you were able to successfully deal with another person even when that individual may not have personally liked you or vice versa.
  • Give an example of a time when you used your expertise to solve a problem.

It is best to use the STAR interview method when answering behavioural questions as it will keep your responses both structured and engaging.
