Millward Brown is a multinational market research and branding company. They are known for putting together the annual Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands ranking. The career opportunities at Millward Brown are fairly extensive; however, competition for these places is high.
The Millward Brown graduate scheme has numerous opportunities in many different countries all over the world. They recruit up to 50 new graduates each year. As well as this, there are numerous other positions available throughout the year for many varied jobs.
In order to enrol for a position on the Millward Brown graduate scheme, there are a number of processes which you need to go through. The first one is the online application form. This is your opportunity to sell yourself to the Millward Brown team. It is a fairly basic online application form and you have the opportunity to upload your CV, write a cover letter and connect through your LinkedIn page. Use this opportunity to show that you are the perfect fit for the job by ensuring that your CV is up to date and fits the job application like a glove.
If Millward Brown are interested in your application, you will be asked to complete some online tests. These tests are supplied by SHL. The tests that you are likely to receive are:
In this test you will be presented with various pieces of numerical data in the form of graphs, tables, and percentages. You will need to calculate and manipulate the data in order to verify which of the multiple choice answers is correct. For practice tests, click here.
Although all candidates get the Millward Brown numerical test, only select positions, such as account researchers, will receive the verbal reasoning test. This test will present you with a paragraph of information about a certain, often abstract idea, and you will be asked some questions on it. Later on in the application process, at the Millward Brown assessment centre, you will be re-tested using a verification test. This is to ensure that your answers were genuine. This is one of the reasons why it’s important to make sure that you practise beforehand.
If your performance at the online testing was successful, Millward Brown will conduct a telephone interview with you. This interview will be a general and competency based interview and is shorter than most other telephone interviews (some lasting only 10 minutes.) If you are successful in your telephone interview you will be invited to the Millward Brown assessment day. There are a number of different exercises that you can expect on the day itself and the more you are prepared for them the better chance you have of success. The exercises of the day are:
Whether you have taken the numerical test or the verbal reasoning one as well you will have to take further validation tests. These are in the same format as the previous online tests and are used as verification of the previously gained results. Make sure you are well prepared and confidant of your ability by getting sufficient practise before the assessment centre.

In this exercise you will be given a case study to analyse and come up with some solutions together as a group. It is important to bear in mind that you need to demonstrate the core values of the company during this exercise. Find out how to best present yourself in this activity here.
You will also have two interviews on the assessment day. These are much more detailed than the telephone interview. The first interview is a personal interview relating to your skills and your personality. Find out how we can help you here. For example, you may be asked about a certain item and describe if you think it is a strong or weak brand. Make sure you are fully prepared for this interview by ensuring you have answers prepared.
