  • 84% of applicants using our PrepPacks said that the Numerical and Verbal tests are the most obvious to prepare for, but are usually overlooked
  • 77% of them bought the Premium PrepPack to increase chances of a excellent score

Mako Verbal Reasoning

Comprehension, vocabulary, and interpretation—is improved through practice. Simply taking practice tests and gaining exposure to the types of questions you will experience on the real test will relax you, increase your confidence, and improve your speed and accuracy. The important aspects to consider when preparing for a verbal reasoning test are as follows:

  • Answering questions accurately.
  • Most verbal reasoning tests are time-limited, therefore the speed at which you answer is important.
  • Comprehending the text and the manner of answering the questions.

Mako Situational Judgement Tests

During the SJT, try to picture yourself in the office, and answer the questions appropriately. This is really important since we all act and react differently inside and out of the workplace. When taking a situational judgment test you want to answer with your 'profesisonal' character—the logical, reasonable, mature version of yourself that will represent you in the workplace.

Mako Personality Tests

The creators of personality assessment tests claim there are no "correct" or "false" answers and often refer to personality tests as personality "questionnaires" instead of "tests." This is false. A personality test is presented as a tool to help find the person who fulfill the principles of a definite position. So, there are right and wrong reactions associated with specific positions. Preparing for the personality test beforehand will allow you to become well-acquainted with the types of questions asked and what the optimal answers are.

These can be presentations, role-plays, interviews, case studies, and aptitude tests. Besides for the actual assessment you will also have the chance to meet managers of the company and evaluate the organisational culture. You can learn about what you can expect as an employee and the values of the company.

What Skills Do Mako Numerical Tests Measure?

Numerical reasoning tests are designed to look at the range of skills and abilities needed to perform almost any job. Basic maths or computations skills, such as the four basic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division), percentages, and ratios, to name a few, are all needed on a daily basis. Being able to understand and analyse graphs and other numerical data is necessary for many graduate and management positions. If you work in the finance or banking sector, financial reasoning skills are a must. As part of the hiring process, technical jobs often require applicants to have speed and concentration when working with numerical data. Critical reasoning is necessary for many high-level positions, while estimation skills are also a big advantage in many jobs.

How Should I Conduct Myself During the Assessment Day?

Competition is keen among job candidates. Behaving impressively while being assessed is the key to success. The main point is to be assertive during all activities. If you make a mistake, do not get upset or concentrate on the negative side of your performance. Try to improve your performance during the next exercise, because your final evaluation is the summation of points given to you for each activity. Therefore, if you underperform during one task, you may compensate for this by behaving more assertively during another. It is also important not to overshadow other candidates completely. When you are having a group exercise, draw your peers into the discussion. Be polite and considering to other candidates even during breaks, because you will be observed even while conversing informally with others. Do not be nervous. Only when you are relaxed and confident will your talents shine through.
