Motivated to help you sail as smoothly through Lander & Rogers’s interviews as through your tests, we have also put into our PrepPack™ interview preparation materials. There you will find tips on how to behave impressively on your interview and how to give the right answers to the trickiest questions. By practising with our high-quality resources, you will rise above other applicants and become a member of Lander & Rogers’s law group.

Lander & Rogers’s Recruitment Process

Lander & Roger’s recruitment process includes several stages. Yet it is fairly straightforward.  After your CV, cover letter, academic transcripts, and other documents have been screened, you will be invited for a phone interview with a Human Resources manager. Be ready to discuss your work experience, hobbies, and career goals. The second step in your pre-employment assessment involves taking one or several tests designed to measure your critical thinking, numerical and verbal reasoning as well as predict your behavior in the new workplace. Your high scores on the test will pave the way for the face-to-face interview with Lander & Rogers’s recruiters. Expect to be asked behavioral questions and talk about your career goals. If the company’s recruiters find you agreeable and professional, they may prefer you to other job candidates and offer you a position at Lander & Rogers.

The Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Test

As a leading independent law firm, Lander & Rogers wants to ensure that its prospective employees can understand and analyse arguments and propositions in a critical way. To assess applicants’ critical thinking, the company’s managers invite them to take the Watson-Glaser Test. This test measures how well job candidates interpret provided data, make logical connections between ideas, and estimate the validity and strength of presented arguments and statements. The Watson-Glaser Test also seeks to evaluate how well job candidates distinguish between hard facts and opinions.

The Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Test is built on the so-called RED model, an acronym standing for Recognise Assumptions, Evaluate Arguments, and Draw Conclusions. When you are answering questions on the test, first, weigh a statement and analyse its truth-value. Considering the statement from different perspectives can help you identify omitted information and find logical inconsistencies in the provided data. Second, systematically analyse the statement and arguments. What is important at this stage is to be able to suspend your own judgement and avoid being swayed by your emotions. Only by remaining objective can you evaluate the given information correctly. Finally, you need to bring all bits of the information together and come to proper conclusions. It is equally crucial to be able to reevaluate your conclusions, if you encounter further evidence contradicting them.

The Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Test is timed. You will have about 10 minutes to complete each section. Overall, it should take you no more than 50 minutes to answer all questions. Working under time pressure may negatively influence your results. Hence, it is essential to practice before coming to Lander & Rogers’s pre-employment assessment.
