Start Practising for the ING Application Process

ING is a global financial organisation which offers banking expertise and consists of over 52,000 employees who provide retail and wholesale banking services to their customers. Recruiters are looking for motivated employees as well as ING graduates who wish to acquire expert skills and professional work experience.

The ING hiring process consists of the following stages:

  • Application: The initial step of the selection process is filling out an online application form and submitting a CV with motivational questions.
  • Telephone Interview: Once deemed eligible, the following interview may be conducted with an HR representative over the phone to cover applicants’ background and resume information.
  • Tests: Following the phone screening, candidates may be invited to complete three online tests to determine their compatibility with the position and their cognitive abilities.
  • HR Interview: Once applicants pass these pre-employment exams they will be requested to partake in an interview with an HR recruiter as well as a current trainee. This interview will be competency-based and focuses on past experiences, skills, and addresses the results of the online tests.
  • Business-Panel Interview: The last stage will be held as an in-person interview with two senior management representatives as well as an HR expert. The ING assessment centre day may be included in this process to assess applicants’ ability to work in a group setting and perform activities and exercises sufficiently.

ING Test Stage

Taking CEB’s SHL psychometric tests is an important part of the ING application process since these tests assess applicable character traits, strengths, and work-related preferences. These cognitive ability tests evaluate abstract, verbal reasoning, numerical, and rational ability. Since the personality and situational judgment (SJT) tests measure candidates’ emotional intellect, there are no wrong answers to these assessments. The test outcome is a representation of applicants’ behavioural responses to certain work-related scenarios and is helpful in deciding whether applicants are the right fit for the position. Excel tests may be given as an interactive exam to predict whether applicants possess essential knowledge of the Excel Software.
