HP Tests

Depending on the type and level of the position you are applying for you can be expected to sit HP tests. These tests are typycally provided by CEB SHL. The three most common type of assessment appraent in HP recruitment is the numerical, the verbal, and the logical reasoning. It is essential you invest your time into preparing for these tests as being familiar with the structure and style of the test can make a real difference in your performance.

HP Graduate Scheme

The HP Graduate Scheme is a very varied scheme that offers numerous options for candidates coming from many different fields. Entry onto the HP Graduate Scheme requires you to have a minimum of a 2.1 degree. HP Telephone Interview

During HP hiring process you will be invited to one or more telephone interviews. The initial HP Telephone Interview is conducted by an HP recruiter. The interview consists mostly of competency-based questions. The recruiter is trying to determine if you have the general skills and competencies to fit into the company and your team. HP Assessment Centre 

The HP Assessment Centre follows the HP Telephone Interview. At the HP Assessment Centre, you will be assessed by numerous activities. The activities will include:

Group Exercises

At the HP Assessment Centre, you may be faced with one or two group exercises. One may involve a problem-solving exercise and the other may need you to plan an event. The purpose is not necessarily to get the correct result, but instead to show that you are confident, you listen to others and that you are a team player. Interviews

The HP Interview is your opportunity to shine. The interview is with two assessors and is quite informal. You should expect to be asked some competency based questions, similar to those included on the application form. They may also throw in some more random questions, such as:

  • "How would your friends describe you?"
  • "What makes you angry?"

Although, there are no right or wrong answers to these questions you should consider these questions as your chance to demonstrate your relevance to your chosen HP job. Therefore, you should prepare for the interview by reviewing your experience and traits that can be appealing to the HP HR.

Presentations

You are asked to make a presentation. The presentation should be short, around 5 minutes and it is recommended you select a topic you feel confident to discuss. Perhaps it can be a piece of work that you did and its outcome. Maybe you could discuss the reasons to why it was a successful piece of work. Ability tests
