Prepping for these interviews, including the sit down with HR, requires a great deal of thought and negotiating skills. Remember, you are interviewing them just as much as they are interviewing you. Come to the interview fully prepared to answer a wide range of questions and prove that you have what it takes to excel in the position and grow with the company.

Information for the Hermes Assessment Centre

Assessment Centers are gaining popularity these days due to a common belief that they provide a more accurate measurement of job candidates’ suitability for the position than any other means of assessment. Employers maintain that neither testing nor interviewing is enough to make a correct hiring decision about job candidates’ professional aptitude. Hence, during an assessment day, they ask job candidates not only to take several written tests but also participate in group discussions, case studies, and in-tray exercises. Applicants also make oral presentations and show themselves during various social events organized by employers. While applicants are engaged in these activities, assessors subject them to scrutiny and give them points summed up by the end of the event. Candidates who collect more points get interviewed by companies’ high managers and owners.

What Qualities Do the Aptitude Tests Measure?

Employers prefer not to base their hiring decisions only on the impression derived from conversations with applicants. They maintain that interviewing candidates is a less productive method for predicting their future performance than testing them. To conduct a more accurate evaluation, they introduced into their pre-employment assessment various Aptitude Tests. They were designed to estimate candidates’ different cognitive abilities and their behaviour in certain stressful situations occurring in workplaces. The abilities measured by Aptitude Tests are numerical competency, verbal and reading comprehension, and the ability to analyse data presented in charts and diagrams. By estimating these cognitive abilities in applicants, employers arrive to a more accurate understanding of their creative and working potential. Lest employers create a wrong impression of your abilities, you must prepare for your forthcoming pre-employment assessment. JobTestPrep holds the key to your success in its thoughtfully created PrepPacks™. Practice with us and pave the way to your brilliant career in a new company.

How Is the Verbal Test Scored?

You will not receive a raw score on you Verbal Reasoning Test; that is, your results will not be calculated according to the number of questions you answer correctly on the exam. Your score on the Verbal Reasoning Test is calculated relative to the scores of other applicants. Such a method of calculation allows employers to choose the best candidates competing for an advertised position. Candidates, however, may be put in a disadvantageous position by this method of scoring. Even those applicants who do well on the Verbal Reasoning Test may be winnowed out if the majority of their competitors do better than them. Such objectively high percent of right answers as, say, 92 may disqualify you from the position if most of your competitors get 94% of questions right. With such comparative method of evaluation, it is highly advisable to come to the Verbal Reasoning Test well prepared. Practice with our thoughtfully compiled resources and shoot ahead of other applicants.

How Will My Hermes Numerical Assessment Be Evaluated?

Because Hermes is looking for the most numerically savvy applicant, your score will likely be compared to that of the other candidates. These scores are then compared to the benchmark score supplied by the test provider. The higher your score overall, the better your chances of being offered the position.

How Are Assessment Centre Interviews Conducted?

On the one hand, an interview at an assessment centre is conducted in a similar manner to a regular interview that would be held in an office. You can expect competency-based, situational, and, perhaps, technical questions, but the format will vary. First, assessment centre interviews are held in between tasks, as job applicants pass or fail, individuals are selected based on performance for an interview. After several rounds, someone (or multiple people) may be hired. Moreover, you may be asked to make a presentation or role play in a group interview, which is unique to assessment centre interviews.

Why Should I Prepare For the Hermes PLI Tests?

Practice is key prior to taking a PLI test. Hermes uses these tests to ensure that they are hiring the right candidate who meets their standards and workplace competencies. When using our PLI-style PrepPacks™ you will become familiar not only with the test format but also the appropriate way to respond to each question. In this way you will surely be at an advantage over the other Hermes candidates.

Why Do Companies Ask Job Candidates to Take Tests?

Many employers believe that basing their hiring decision on an applicant’s CV and answers to the interview’s questions is insufficient. Neither the CV nor interviews convey a fair picture of applicants’ professionalism and personality. Their skills and personality traits show better through their answers to questions posed on pre-employment tests. This is why employers invite their job candidates to take various tests as a part of their hiring process. You cannot receive a job offer if you do not excel on your test. Do not come to your test without preparation then. Practice with JobTestPrep’s comprehensive resources. Our top-notch resources will lead you to employment.

What Should I Expect During The Hermes Recruitment Process?

The Hermes recruitment process may include a number of assessment tests, including the PLI test, as well as several interviews, and an assessment centre. Preparing for each stage will ultimately give you an advantage over the other Hermes candidates.

Why Do Assessment Centres Gain Such Popularity Nowadays?

Many employers think that just asking applicants to take a test and interviewing them cannot create a full picture of their professionalism. When you ask them to perform various activities, however, their personalities shine through more vividly. Hence, many companies now invite job candidates to participate in the assessment event organized by the Assessment Centre. There, applicants make short presentations, have group discussions, participate in case studies and simulation exercises, and engage in role-playing. These activities are intense and better reveal applicants’ suitability for the job.
