To enable you to pass other stages of your recruitment process equally successfully, JobTestPrep has also added to its PrepPack™ interview materials. If you want to enhance your personality profile and work on developing those character traits that recruiters seek in their employees, you may consult our Situational Judgement and Personality tests also added to our materials. Prepare for your assessment with our PrepPack™ and make your plans to be employed by Heathrow Express come to fruition.

What Is the Numerical Reasoning Test?

This test measures how well you understand and analyse numerical information given in statistical tables, charts, and diagrams. On your examination, you will be presented with charts, diagrams, or tables that will appear on the left side of your computer screen. After you have analyzed given data, you will be required to answer multiple-choice questions appearing on the right-side of your screen. Each answer contains a choice of alternatives from which to select the right option.

In order to choose the right answer among incorrect alternatives, you will need to perform not only basic arithmetic calculations such as adding, subtracting, dividing, and multiplying but also calculate percentages and proportions, fractions, ratios, and estimations. You also need to understand how to convert currencies and know what inflation and rebasing are.

The Numerical Reasoning Test is timed: you will have between 45 seconds to 2 minutes to answer each question. It is essential, therefore, to come to your examination well prepared lest you make errors performing under time pressure. Prepare for your exam with our simulations of the numeracy tests and improve the accuracy and speed of your calculations. Only by practising with our resources will you turn your pre-employment assessment at Heathrow Express into an unequivocal success.

What Stages Are on Heathrow Express’s Recruitment Process?

  • After you submit your application, you will be invited to spend a day or two in the Assessment Center. Assessment Centers are becoming increasingly popular in the United Kingdom, because employers think that activities in which applicants are involved during their assessment day yield a better understanding of their professionalism and personalities than interviewing and testing. First what you will do the Heathrow Express’s Assessment Center is taking the Numerical Reasoning Test. You may also be administered a different type of a numeracy test such as Calculation Test, for example. On this test, you will be presented with mathematical equations with one missing number indicated by a question mark “?”. Your task will be to calculate the value of the omitted number. Based on the test results, you will be either invited for another test or eliminated from the job competition.
  • Another test that you will be asked to complete is the Rules Acquisition Aptitude Test (RAAT). This test measures how well you understand and apply to current situations basic written rules, regulations, and procedures employed within transport and safety industries. The results of the RAAT help employers to predict how well you will learn necessary rules and procedures while being trained for your position. They will also predict whether you will follow these rules in your new workplace. On the test, you will be presented with a written passage followed by 34 multiple-choice questions. Employers at Heathrow Express may decide to send you a practice copy at which you can have a go before the assessment. If they do not do this, you are welcome to practice with our Verbal Tests also included in our test preparation materials.
  • The majority of the applicants will be winnowed after the RAAT. If you do well on this test, you will participate in a role play. Before you start, you will be given a scenario which you can peruse within 15 minutes. Then, a member of a staff will pretend to be a disgruntled passenger, complaining either about the absence of Wi-Fi on the train or about the noise during the journey. Your task will be to find the way to pacify the unhappy passenger and give him or her either a refund or other reward that you think will be appropriate in the described circumstances.
  • After the role play, you will be invited for an in-person interview. It will take the form of a panel. You will talk to two PDMs and a Customer Host, or other company’s representatives. If you create a favorable impression on this interview, you may receive a job offer.
