What Is the Deloitte Immersive Online Assessment?

The Deloitte Immersive Online Assessment, provided by Cappfinity, is an online test used as part of the Deloitte recruitment process to screen candidates for apprenticeship and graduate positions.

Deloitte has also been known to use the Arctic Shores Assessment for some roles, which you can read more about on our dedicated page.

The Immersive Assessment is untimed but is estimated to take around 30 minutes to complete. It contains 32 situational judgement and personality profiling questions.

5 sections are covered in the test:

  1. Everyone Is Welcome
  2. Building Your Career
  3. Cross-Business Collaboration
  4. Making an Impact
  5. Forging Your Path

Additionally, you will be tested with the following 3 sections:

  1. Logical reasoning test
  2. Numerical reasoning
  3. Verbal Critical Reasoning

Deloitte Online Test Appearance and Structure

The main page of the Deloitte aptitude tests is an interactive homepage containing the 5 sections, each appearing as a different day in the new Deloitte employee's week. Upon clicking each section of the Deloitte Immersive Assessment, different info sources are interactively listed, included among them are a Deloitte employee profile and a workday situation. These info sources are then followed by Situational Judgement and personality questions. The progress bar can be seen in the top right corner.

Recently, Deloitte made a shift of focus with the assessment method for potential new employees. By putting an emphasis on situational judgement and personality profiling ones, Deloitte made it clear they are mainly interested in the values and strengths of its workers, and how they align with the company’s. Understanding these values and strengths and solving the Deloitte assessment test accordingly will give you a major advantage over your competition

Deloitte Situational Judgement Questions

While there aren't many situational judgment questions on the Deloitte Immersive Assessment, they play a vital part in your evaluation.

In these questions, you are presented with a work or behaviour-related scenario with five response options. You are then requested to rank these responses from what you are most likely to do (1) to least likely (5).

Deloitte Personality Questions

Personality profiling questions are aimed at assessing various personality traits that are considered important for your work with Deloitte.

These are formed as two statements about you, set on a two-sided scale. You should place the level to which these statements describe you in the appropriate place along the scale.

Deloitte's attitude is to adopt a wide perspective that unfolds new opinions that might be different from your own.

They emphasise the advantages and new opportunities that arise from taking in various feedback. Working with that wide perspective in mind can lead to actions that are not exactly aligned with what you had in mind. Some flexibility is necessary to be a good and collaborative team member.  

Therefore, the correct range to respond to such a question is 1-3.

Most sections of the Deloitte Assessment contain info sources that initially seem irrelevant. These include brief interviews with Deloitte employees, recorded voicemails from your superiors explaining the task ahead, and more.

Deloitte Cognitive Reasoning Sections

In addition to the situational judgement and personality profiling sections, the Deloitte Immersive Assessment includes the following sections:

Deloitte Logical Reasoning 

This section includes 13 questions. It is untimed and takes approximately 10 minutes. The goal of this section is to assess your problem-solving abilities.
Each question includes a sequence of 5 images. Your task is to identify the pattern holding them together and pick the next image in the sequence. The pattern may consist of a single rule or several, and you should identify and pay attention to how each of these rules plays its part in the sequence of images.

The series is made up of three geometric shapes – a square, triangle and circle. Each object in the series has an internal and external shape. The internal shape in an object becomes the external shape in the next object in the series. This means that the next object in the series will have an external triangle. The internal shapes appear in the following order: square, triangle and circle. We can conclude that the internal shape in the next object in the series is a circle.

Therefore, the right answer is E — an internal circle with an external triangle.

 

Deloitte Numerical Reasoning

 

This section includes 12 questions. It is untimed and takes approximately 15 minutes. The goal is to assess your numerical reasoning abilities.
While the test is not time-limited, your timing is recorded, and you will be graded according to time and accuracy. The quicker you finish the test, the better the score will be.
You can use a paper and a calculator to solve the test.

The unemployment rate for each category is measured by calculating the proportion of unemployed students from the total number of students in each category. The greater the proportion, the higher the unemployment rate.

1990 Private = 155 / (155 + 1475) = 0.095 = 9.5%

1990 State = 125 / (125 + 1610) = 0.072 = 7.2%

2000 Private = 125 / (125 + 1350) = 0.085 = 8.5%

2000 State = 150 / (150 + 1250) = 0.107 = 10.7%

Therefore, the proportion of unemployed students from state universities in 2000 is the highest.

 

Deloitte Verbal and Critical Reasoning

This section includes 4 different subsections with a total of 20 questions. It is untimed and takes approximately 10 minutes.
You will face the following tasks:
  1. Identifying assumptions — deciding if an assumption is taken for granted in the portrayed statement.
  2. Deducing conclusions — judging whether a conclusion necessarily follows the essence of the passage.
  3. Judging arguments — deciding if an argument is strong in relation to the question.
  4. Verbal reasoning — paragraph reading comprehension.

 

Each subsection will challenge different aspects of your combination of critical and verbal skills, mimicking the critical thinking Deloitte expects of its employees. Let's take a look at a question from the Deducing Conclusions subsection:

A substantial increase in car sales in recent years has resulted in a staggering rise in the number of fatal car accidents. As the latest figures show, 50 percent of all fatal car accidents involve drivers with less than five years of driving experience, and an additional 15 percent involve drivers who have between six and eight years of experience.

Conclusion: Fatal car accidents are more prevalent amongst young drivers with six to eight years of experience than older drivers with similar experience.

If you pass the Deloitte immersive online assessment, you will receive an invitation to the Deloitte Job simulation. This is an online assessment that mirrors the familiar routine of a typical day at Deloitte.
