The Hiring Process at Daikin

The hiring process takes 5 weeks, during which you will be asked to show your technical and your people skills. To assess your skills, Daikin will require you to take certain tests and participate in several interviews. If you look closely at the requirements on their job applications, apart from very specific skills, there are general skills that are required of everybody. These skills include:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

Daikin Interview Preparation

You will have to participate in at least two of the following interviews when applying for a job at Daikin:

  • Phone interviews. Phone interviews are interviews conducted by telephone. This type of interview usually lasts around 30 minutes, during which candidates are asked a series of questions. Typically, if the phone interview goes well, then the interviewers will ask you to come in for a formal face-to-face interview.
  • A video interview. Two types of video interviews exist, a live one and a pre-recorded one. A live video interview is usually conducted via Skype and is similar to an initial face-to-face interview. This type of interview can be as long as one hour. A pre-recorded interview is where are given a set of questions which you have to answer while recording yourself. You then send this video to the interviewers.
  • Face-to-face interviews. If the phone interview was successful, you will be invited to a series of face-to-face (or in-person) interviews. These will be done with multiple people like the HR representative, your direct superior and the hiring manager.
  • Group interviews. A group interview may hold between 10-40 candidates simultaneously. Each candidate will be asked questions in front of the other candidates by multiple interviewers. The purpose of these is usually to save time for the interviewers and see how candidates do under pressure. These types of interviews may last more than an hour.
