Prepare for the CIB Hiring Process

The Commercial International Bank (CIB) is the largest provider of integrated Corporate, Institutional, and Retail Banking services in Egypt. CIB was established in 1975 and is Egypt’s foremost private sector bank, providing a wide-range of financial products and services to its customers. The CIB recruitment process includes:

Application: The CIB application process can be performed with a recruiter, through an employee referral, or online on the CIB website. Candidates are also asked to give in their CV as well.

Telephone Interview: A phone interview may involve a phone call from a hiring manager. These screening discussions allow employers to measure applicants’ cognitive aptitude and personality.

In-Person Interview: In-person CIB interviews may take place over the course of several face-to-face meetings. Interviews may be conducted by one employer or a panel. CIB assessment centre days entail a group interview with case studies, group discussions, and exercises.

Tests: The psychometric tests include aptitude entrance exams as part of the hiring process. These assessments measure how well-suited applicants are for the job position.


CIB Aptitude Test Preparation

Applicants may be requested to take various aptitude exams to appraise their cognitive abilities and knowledge. Through these evaluations, one’s numerical, logical, and verbal reasoning skills are assessed. The Bank Teller test may be administered, as it displays real-life banking situations that tellers are often exposed to. Part of this test is a mathematical aptitude valuation, including percentages, fractions, multiplication, division, and more. The verbal test is also included, with questions regarding one’s reading and writing skills.

The situational judgement (SJT) and personality tests were made to help companies evaluate one’s behavioural tendencies and character traits. These assessments are used to evaluate job seekers’ responses to challenges in regards to their potential compatibility for the career. Each candidate’s score is compared against other applicants, to determine who to hire for the vacant position.

CIB Interview Questions

CIB interviews may include case interviews, posing challenging scenarios in which interviewees are asked to solve them. Candidates are given the necessary information to solve these problems. Other interviewing tactics are competency-based, focusing on how one had dealt with past issues as a way to predict their future behaviour.
