Ashurst Application Process

This begins with the Ashurst online application form, which was designed to help applicants showcase their skills and talents. You are asked to fill in some basic information, followed by a personal statement as to why you want to become an Ashurst solicitor. If this stage is successful, you will then be invited to complete the Ashurst face-to-face interviews. This is one of a few law firms that does not administer an assessment day as part of the application process. During these interviews, you will be asked to complete the Ashurst written case study, so the staff can get a feel for your analytical ability, commercial instinct and written communication skills. This will be followed by two Ashurst interviews and a tour of the office.

Ashurst Interviews

The first of the two Ashurst interviews is conducted with a member of the Ashurst graduate recruitment team. The second is done by two partners of the Ashurst graduate recruitment committee. The Ashurst interview questions are directed and uncovering the behaviours of the candidate by the use of both competency and scenario-based questions.

What Does the Ashurst Verbal Assessment Measure?

The verbal assessments measure your ability to reach accurate conclusions, based on a written passage or passages. Gauging a candidate’s verbal logic is essential for companies that are looking for applicants with strong communication skills.

What can I Expect on the Ashurst Situational Judgement?

There are four primary categories: Knowledge, skills and performance; Safety and quality; Communication, partnership and teamwork; and Maintaining Trust. The scenarios aim to place you in the shoes of an employee with an impeccable record - both in terms of work ethics and as a problem solver. As the test progresses, the Ashurst solicitor situations become more complicated, as do the possible solutions.

What Can I Expect During Ashurst Interviews?

In addition to taking tests and personality assessments, you may also be taking part in discussions, case studies and possibly role-plays.
