About AO Partners PrepPacks™

During the recruitment process, you'll be asked to take a number of different AO Partners tests. You are asked to complete these tests online. These tests are in general provided by SHL. To successfully move on to the next stage of the hiring process, utilise JobTestPrep's comprehensive preparation packages to give yourself the best chance of success.


AO Partners SHL-Style Verify Numerical Reasoning Tests

This is an online 18-question test that takes 25 minutes to complete. This test is later verified with a shorter version that is taken at the assessment center. It is designed to estimate job candidates’ ability to make decisions or inferences from statistical or numerical data. Questions on the Verify Numerical Reasoning Test are presented in the form of graphs and charts. Only instructions to them are verbally formulated. To answer the test’s questions, you will need to perform calculations and then choose a correct answer among several alternatives. As a rule, the test is offered to applicants vying for the positions in the fields of finance, professional services, production, sales, and information technology.


AO Partners SHL-Style Verify Verbal Reasoning Tests

This Verify verbal reasoning test of the CEB SHL-style tests is one of the harder tests they provide. With written passages, mostly scientific with high language, this test evaluates the job seeker's English abilities, specifically his reasoning, logic, inference, and vocabulary knowledge. There are 10 passages in the test and a total of 30 questions, three per passage. Each question consists of an argument and three possible answers regarding this argument: True, False, and Cannot Say. By reading the passage and relying only on the information within it, the job seeker's task is to decide which of the three answers correctly describes the argument. Solving the multiple tests provided in the practice pack will strengthen the job seeker's verbal reasoning abilities and his understanding of this difficult test.


AO Partners SHL-Style Verify Inductive Reasoning Tests

In this test you are presented with a row of figures consisting of lines, shapes, arrows, etc. You need to identify the underlying pattern of that sequence and choose the figure that would come next in the series from the available options. This type of question is highly prevalent in CEB’s SHL inductive tests, but it is possible (though not probable) to encounter other types of questions as well. For instance, you may be presented with a matrix of shapes missing a piece and be asked to identify the missing piece from the available options.


AO Partners SHL-Style OPQ32 Tests

The test is comprised of a maximum of 104 questions which measure 32 specific personality characteristics. It is highly complex and is administered on a computer. The candidate is presented with a block of four statements and must choose which of the statements best describes him and which of the statements least describes him. For example: Choose ONE statement that is Most and one that is Least like you:

  • I really like to help others.
  • I work best in teams.
  • I like to get things exactly right.
  • I sustain high levels of energy. 

AO Partners Situational Judgement Tests

The Situational Judgement Test depicts realistic situations and conflicts that are likely to arise in the workplace, and provides response options to these situations. Candidates are asked to choose the most and least effective responses, rate or rank-order them based on their effectiveness. SJTs asses valuable work-related competencies.


AO Partners Excel & Word Tests

These tests are often part of the job recruitment process. They can be taken at any point in the process, although most candidates will take the Microsoft Word test during their interview. The Microsoft Word test measures your ability to complete tasks at various levels and is entirely interactive, attempting to simulate how Word is used in the workplace.

The Excel User Test enables employers to carefully assess a candidate's Microsoft Excel skills, as well as to decide if they are qualified for the offered position. There are typically between 10 and 25 questions per test.

How Long does AO Partners Hiring Process Take?

The hiring process depends on the number of tasks you have to fulfil. Typically, there are hundreds, if not thousands of candidates are applying for the same job. Whilst most of them are filtered out through the use of online tests, that still leaves many who have to go through face to face assessments and interviews. We can make some generalisations though. Online tests and automatic application screening typically takes no more than a week. However, you will only know if you have gotten through to the next stage of the application process once the job posting has been closed. The company will normally take a further month to come up with a shortlist of candidates who should attend interviews and assessment centres. These assessment centres usually take place in the first three months of the year and you get the results typically about a week or two afterwards. We can, therefore, say that the entire process can take up to six months.
