ABSA CEB SHL-Style Online Tests

There are various levels of SHL CEB verbal tests. In the operational level of tests you are assessed most typically on your ability to: follow instructions, comprehend verbal passages, show technical understanding, complete sentences, as well as various other verbal related tasks. The skills are assessed on a deeper level in the graduate level tests. In order to understand how to answer the questions it is imperative you learn the skills needed. This can be done through using our specially prepared PrepPacks which give you not only the skills needed to answer the questions correctly but also the understanding of how to complete the entire test in the time allotted.

The Numerical Reasoning Test evaluates how well applicants draw conclusions and inferences from numerical and statistical data. You will need to demonstrate that you can work with numerical information, if you want to be hired for positions requiring numerical reasoning ability. These positions most often belong to the fields of finance, informational technology, professional services, production, and sales.

An assessment centre may be the final stage of your application process. The assessment day takes place either at the company campus or at a hired venue. You are evaluated by a series of assessment centre exercises, including both individual and group tasks. These exercises may include an aptitude test, a role-play, a case study, a presentation and an interview. This day gives your prospective employer a rounded profile of your competencies and an insight into your performance in the workplace.

How Many Scenarios Can I Expect to Encounter in the ABSA SJT?

You can expect to find between 25 – 50 scenarios on any given SJT. The scenarios are usually engaging and challenging. After you are presented with a scenario you will then have to either find the most (or least) suitable response to the scenario or rank/rate the responses in order of effectiveness.

What is the ABSA Numerical Tests Designed to Measure?

Depending on the job and profession you are seeking, you may encounter a pre-hire math test, also known as a numerical reasoning test, a quantitative reasoning test, or a numerical test. This is the most common type of aptitude test applicants can face. Test takers are assessed on their ability to understand and make decisions based on numerical data. The exam may be administered as part of an online job application, at the job site, or during an interview. However, it's important to note that there are no standard pre-employment math tests.

What questions do the ABSA's representatives ask in a phone interview?

After you have uploaded your résumé and cover letter onto the ABSA's website, you will have a phone interview with its Human Resources manager who will ask you questions mostly about your education, working experience, and career goals. You may also discuss the company’s business objectives, your future duties, and benefits you will be given, if you qualify for the position. If your phone interview goes well, you will receive a link to the online test that you need to pass in order to move to the next stage in the hiring process.
