The results of the psychometric tests are held at the recruiting agency and the employer's HR database. Most employers notify the applicants on their assessment centre results within one to three working days. The candidate does not receive a copy of these results and in most cases does not know what made him fail or succeed in the tests.
For how long would the test results be held?Psychometric tests results are usually kept on record for two years. In case of qualification failure, the candidate is likely not to be able to apply for the same position with the same organisation or recruiting agency. However, past candidates data is kept in the employer's database and thus he may be invited in the future for other job vacancies that fit his assessment centre results.
Many job seekers presume that they are able to do the psychometric tests again just like any other ordinary test. The recruiting agencies usually do not provide this information and on occasion misinform the candidate by telling them that they will be able to try and improve their results if they so wish, although it is not true.
Make sure to prepare The truth is that if you have failed your tests, chances are you will not have a genuine second opportunity to improve the impression you created with the same recruiting agency or organisation. Therefore it is extremely important that you prepare thoroughly for the first testing attempt.
