Psychometric tests – aptitude (mainly abstract, numerical and verbal reasoning tests) and personality tests are the most confusing and misleading part of the assessment centre and job selection process. Often job candidates find themselves disqualified as a result. The psychometric tests most commonly used in the British market are SHL tests. Your objective is to achieve a higher score than other candidates competing for the same role. Typically a score of 7 or higher is required on each aptitude test to be qualified. The more you practise the greater are your chances of success.
