The Police Initial Recruitment Test or PIRT (also referred to as PIR) is a series of screening tests used by the police services in the UK to assess police candidates. The PIRT assesses your: - numerical reasoning skills
- logical reasoning skills
- speed vs. accuracy skills
- verbal abilities.
These tests measure your ability to write clearly and accurately, as well as your ability to make logical conclusions when presented with written text. Further, the PIRT measures your numerical reasoning skills and your ability to scan and check information quickly and accurately. Since numerical and verbal skills can be dramatically improved with relative ease in comparison to abstract abilities (often tested using a variety of diagrammatic tests) it is strongly recommended you make use of your time prior to the assessment and practice as much as you can. At JobTestPrep we have a wide range of aptitude tests that help you improve your skills in all areas. Some of the tests are very similar in format to the tests you are likely to face in the PIRT, while others differ with the intention of providing comprehensive preparation for these psychometric tests and improving your aptitude skills in general. In addition, JobTestPrep offers in depth training for personality tests, job interview and group exercise – all are an integral part of the assessment centre you are likely to attend.
