The Barclays Assessment Centre Guide
Once your application till this point has been reviewed and liked enough by Barclays, you will be invited to attend the Barclays assessment day.
This is a full day of activities and you will be assessed throughout it on your skill and competency levels. In order to tackle the assessment day we offer our unique assessment centre preparation packages. We have several options available for your comfort, ranging from a standard kit to be completed online, to our more extensive package involving a face-to-face full day assessment run by experienced assessors.
|CEB's SHL Numerical Practice Tests|
Numerical reasoning practice tests with score reports and explanations.
You will have the following activities to contend with:
Barclay’s Numerical TestIn this test you will be given 35 questions to answer in as many minutes. This test is very similar to the one you have already taken online. Some of the questions will however be of a harder nature than the ones you have already faced. Make sure you are up to date with your practice and skill level. It is important to bear in mind that even if these questions are similar to those you have already passed, these ones will be taken in a pressure environment thus making them more difficult. Practice them here at JobTestPrep.
Group ExerciseIn this Barclays assessment test you will be given a brief together with the other candidates about a fictitious company who, in general, want to merge with another company. You will have to do a cost-benefit analysis as well as answer some other points that need to be addressed throughout the time period. Throughout the 90 minute exercise you will be given more information regarding some different options. Something to bear in mind during this exercise is that you will have time taken off at certain points throughout proceedings. As well as this, you have to prepare notes for a 10 minute presentation which each candidate will give afterwards. Find out how we can help you here.
Barclay’s Presentation ExerciseIn this exercise each one of the group will get a chance to present some of the findings of the group. After this there is a 15 minute question and answer session with all the candidates of your group together. Make sure that you take part in this as it is impossible to assess you if you don't express yourself. Find out more about presentations here.
Barclay’s InterviewYou will normally be faced with two separate interviews in the assessment centre, the first being similar to the previous Barclays telephone interview and the second being of a more technical nature. You will have to explain almost every single line of your CV and give full examples of any previous job experience you have had. As well as this, you will be asked a variety of brain teasers. For example, you may be asked to calculate 2×2×2×2×2 as well as some other maths based problems such as working out probabilities. Make sure you are fully prepared by checking out our interview preparation pack.
We hope you have enjoyed this guide and wish you luck with your application.

"You are providing an excellent way to gain experience that focuses on passing online psychometric tests. That is what every graduate needs... your tests really help graduates to succeed at initial online assessments. They certainly helped me. Keep up the good work!"
"I would highly recommend these tests - they cover a range of test difficulties, some which are basic some which are more complex. These really enabled me to develop my numerical skills - especially as doing the complex questions made it easier for me to answer the more basic questions. Very satisfied with the service!"
