Accenture is a global management consulting, technology services, and outsourcing company headquartered in Dublin, Ireland. It employs around 250,000 people in 120 countries, and offers a multitude of graduate careers.
Typically, Accenture utilises two distinct recruitment processes; One for its consulting branch and another for the technology solutions and outsourcing services.
Accenture Consulting
- Applicants begin the recruitment process by filling an online application form, complete with personal information and a detailed CV. Accenture follow up by giving a situational judgment test to be completed online.
- The second step in the process involves a 45 minute interview, held at the company’s London office. The interview is competency based, and will focus on the applicant’s understanding of Accenture’s business structure and his/her reasons for pursuing a career in said department. In addition, there will be a short case study to complete, in order to better evaluate the applicant’s logic reasoning and problem solving skills.
- Should the applicants pass the initial interview, they will be invited to a half day assessment centre in the company’s London offices. Each group includes 6 to 10 applicants who all take the following tests:
Case study – A role play scenario, which discusses a certain aspect of a company’s difficulties. It will be preformed between a sole applicant and an interviewer.
Group exercise – The group will sit together and complete an exercise. The emphasis is on proper time management, and showing innovative ideas. Be sure to leave enough time for each member to showcase his/her own ideas and to agree on your collective group response.
In-tray exercise – An exercise examining the applicant’s managerial, prioritisation, problem solving, and time management abilities.
One to one interview – At the end of the assessment phase is a final interview examining in greater detail the career tendencies and interests of the applicant.
There are two additional non-assessed portions to Accenture’s assessment day, which are conducted after the exercises:
Presentation – An Accenture manager will show a presentation detailing the company’s focus and business plan, and the day to day operation.
Q&A – The applicants meet with a recently accepted analyst, and are free to ask questions.
